DP’S football tournament

DUBAI: The Ramadan Football Tournament for college and university students has commenced, showcasing the talent of 20 sports teams representi­ng 20 universiti­es and colleges across the country.

Organised by the Dubai Police Council of College and University Students, this exciting event was honoured by the presence of Brigadier Mohammed Ateeq Thani, Secretary-general of the Initiative­s Councils at Dubai Police, Colonel Dr. Abdul Rahman Sharaf Al Maamari, Acting Director of Hemaya Internatio­nal Center, Major Dr. Hamed Abdullah Murad, General Supervisor of the Dubai Police Council of College and University Students, and Faisal Khalil, former player of the UAE national team.

Brig. Ateeq reaffirmed the significan­t role of the tournament in strengthen­ing communicat­ion between Dubai Police and college and university students. He emphasised that the event fosters a strong bond between the two sides, promoting a beter understand­ing of the students’ security and policing needs in today’s ever-changing landscape.

Brig. Ateeq commended the exceptiona­l level of organisati­on and the enthusiast­ic atmosphere among the players, highlighti­ng that the tournament is an excellent plaform for discoverin­g and nurturing sporting talents among the student participan­ts. Additional­ly, he emphasised that the event plays a crucial role in raising awareness about significan­t issues and familiaris­ing students with Dubai Police’s various communicat­ion channels and smart services. Meanwhile, Major Dr. Hamed Abdullah highlighte­d that the Dubai Police Council of College and University Students organises this tournament as part of its extensive array of programmes, events, and activities designed specifical­ly for students.
