DP’S football tournament
DUBAI: The Ramadan Football Tournament for college and university students has commenced, showcasing the talent of 20 sports teams representing 20 universities and colleges across the country.
Organised by the Dubai Police Council of College and University Students, this exciting event was honoured by the presence of Brigadier Mohammed Ateeq Thani, Secretary-general of the Initiatives Councils at Dubai Police, Colonel Dr. Abdul Rahman Sharaf Al Maamari, Acting Director of Hemaya International Center, Major Dr. Hamed Abdullah Murad, General Supervisor of the Dubai Police Council of College and University Students, and Faisal Khalil, former player of the UAE national team.
Brig. Ateeq reaffirmed the significant role of the tournament in strengthening communication between Dubai Police and college and university students. He emphasised that the event fosters a strong bond between the two sides, promoting a beter understanding of the students’ security and policing needs in today’s ever-changing landscape.
Brig. Ateeq commended the exceptional level of organisation and the enthusiastic atmosphere among the players, highlighting that the tournament is an excellent plaform for discovering and nurturing sporting talents among the student participants. Additionally, he emphasised that the event plays a crucial role in raising awareness about significant issues and familiarising students with Dubai Police’s various communication channels and smart services. Meanwhile, Major Dr. Hamed Abdullah highlighted that the Dubai Police Council of College and University Students organises this tournament as part of its extensive array of programmes, events, and activities designed specifically for students.
