Sultan launches 2nd phase of ‘Rhetorical Encyclopedia’
Ruler of Sharjah atends the annual ceremony for the graduation of the fourth batch of Quran readers certified by the Sharjah Holy Quran Academy, totalling 249 certified readers
Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, on Wednesday launched the second phase of the Holy Quran’s Rhetorical Interpretation Encyclopedia and “The Qulun’ Narration from Nafi” the first of its kind in the Encyclopedia of Recitation Methods.
The launch took place during Sheikh Sultan’s atendance at the annual ceremony for the graduation of the fourth batch of Quran readers certified by the Sharjah Holy Quran Academy, totalling 249 certified readers.
During the ceremony, the Ruler of Sharjah signed the first edition of the second phase of the “Encyclopedia of Rhetorical Interpretation,” which comprises 16 volumes covering parts of the second quarter of the Holy Quran.
This brings the total number of volumes of the Encyclopedia across both phases to 25.
Additionally, Sheikh Sultan signed the first edition of the volumes of “The Encyclopedia of the Qulun’ Narration from Nafi,” marking the first encyclopedias of Quranic recitation methods, encompassing 10 volumes alongside the Noble Quran, along with its explanation of the Qulun’ Narration from Nafi’ Al-madani in the margins.
The Encyclopedia of Rhetorical Interpretation is distinguished by its interpretive and rhetorical nature, offering a comprehensive interpretation of the Holy Quran.
It provides precise linguistic explanations of words, drawing from primary linguistic references, Quranic lexicons, and commentaries, ensuring clarity and strength of expression while maintaining accessibility.
Moreover, it meticulously examines the contextual relevance of each surah (Chapter), exploring its connections and nuances within the text.
Furthermore, the Encyclopedia delves into the linguistic and conceptual embellishments that enrich the Quranic text, elucidating nuances and semantic distinctions among Quranic terms.
It relies on primary sources of Quranic exegesis, linguistic analysis, and rhetorical studies.
Ater the ceremony, the graduates of the fourth batch received their Quranic authorisations with a continuous chain of transmission to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Meanwhile, the “Holy Quran Conference and the Frontiers of Science: United Arab Emirates Efforts in its Service” concluded on Monday, issuing a final statement with key recommendations that deepen global awareness of the civilisational role of the Holy Quran in finding solutions to contemporary issues and achieving sustainable development.
The conference also urged academics and scholars to explore connections between the Quran and other branches of science and philosophy to open new avenues for societal advancement and prosperity.
Organised by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments on 24th and 25th March under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, the conference outlined a clear roadmap for future local and global initiatives.
The conference showcased th eu a e’ s pioneering use of modern technology to serve the Quran and its scholarship and to be shared for global benefit.
A new research branch, focusing on the Quran and its connection to cosmic sciences, will be added to the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments’ Holy Quran Award, starting from the 14th edition this summer.
The conference witnessed the atendance of an elite group of specialists and the UAE President’s guest scholars.
Recently, the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs announced that 700 Quran memorisation sessions are being held in mosques across the emirate during the Holy Month, atracting 29,000 learners from diverse age groups.
Driven by a commitment to the Quran, these individuals are commited to memorising and studying the Quran alongside mastering the rules of Tajweed. The department collaborates with the Sharjah Quran and Sunnah Foundation and the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments to ensure the highest quality of instruction.
In addition to the memorisation sessions, the departmenthasdesignated20mosquesthroughout Sharjah for Quran recitation correction sessions.
