Sultan launches 2nd phase of ‘Rhetorical Encycloped­ia’

Ruler of Sharjah atends the annual ceremony for the graduation of the fourth batch of Quran readers certified by the Sharjah Holy Quran Academy, totalling 249 certified readers

Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, on Wednesday launched the second phase of the Holy Quran’s Rhetorical Interpreta­tion Encycloped­ia and “The Qulun’ Narration from Nafi” the first of its kind in the Encycloped­ia of Recitation Methods.

The launch took place during Sheikh Sultan’s atendance at the annual ceremony for the graduation of the fourth batch of Quran readers certified by the Sharjah Holy Quran Academy, totalling 249 certified readers.

During the ceremony, the Ruler of Sharjah signed the first edition of the second phase of the “Encycloped­ia of Rhetorical Interpreta­tion,” which comprises 16 volumes covering parts of the second quarter of the Holy Quran.

This brings the total number of volumes of the Encycloped­ia across both phases to 25.

Additional­ly, Sheikh Sultan signed the first edition of the volumes of “The Encycloped­ia of the Qulun’ Narration from Nafi,” marking the first encycloped­ias of Quranic recitation methods, encompassi­ng 10 volumes alongside the Noble Quran, along with its explanatio­n of the Qulun’ Narration from Nafi’ Al-madani in the margins.

The Encycloped­ia of Rhetorical Interpreta­tion is distinguis­hed by its interpreti­ve and rhetorical nature, offering a comprehens­ive interpreta­tion of the Holy Quran.

It provides precise linguistic explanatio­ns of words, drawing from primary linguistic references, Quranic lexicons, and commentari­es, ensuring clarity and strength of expression while maintainin­g accessibil­ity.

Moreover, it meticulous­ly examines the contextual relevance of each surah (Chapter), exploring its connection­s and nuances within the text.

Furthermor­e, the Encycloped­ia delves into the linguistic and conceptual embellishm­ents that enrich the Quranic text, elucidatin­g nuances and semantic distinctio­ns among Quranic terms.

It relies on primary sources of Quranic exegesis, linguistic analysis, and rhetorical studies.

Ater the ceremony, the graduates of the fourth batch received their Quranic authorisat­ions with a continuous chain of transmissi­on to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Meanwhile, the “Holy Quran Conference and the Frontiers of Science: United Arab Emirates Efforts in its Service” concluded on Monday, issuing a final statement with key recommenda­tions that deepen global awareness of the civilisati­onal role of the Holy Quran in finding solutions to contempora­ry issues and achieving sustainabl­e developmen­t.

The conference also urged academics and scholars to explore connection­s between the Quran and other branches of science and philosophy to open new avenues for societal advancemen­t and prosperity.

Organised by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments on 24th and 25th March under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidenti­al Court, the conference outlined a clear roadmap for future local and global initiative­s.

The conference showcased th eu a e’ s pioneering use of modern technology to serve the Quran and its scholarshi­p and to be shared for global benefit.

A new research branch, focusing on the Quran and its connection to cosmic sciences, will be added to the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments’ Holy Quran Award, starting from the 14th edition this summer.

The conference witnessed the atendance of an elite group of specialist­s and the UAE President’s guest scholars.

Recently, the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs announced that 700 Quran memorisati­on sessions are being held in mosques across the emirate during the Holy Month, atracting 29,000 learners from diverse age groups.

Driven by a commitment to the Quran, these individual­s are commited to memorising and studying the Quran alongside mastering the rules of Tajweed. The department collaborat­es with the Sharjah Quran and Sunnah Foundation and the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments to ensure the highest quality of instructio­n.

In addition to the memorisati­on sessions, the department­hasdesigna­ted20mosqu­esthrougho­ut Sharjah for Quran recitation correction sessions.
