DUBAI: The Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) and the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) discussed ways to develop and enhance cooperation ties by establishing joint working mechanisms to promote trade and investment partnerships between the UAE and Malaysia. The two parties also discussed topics of common interest that serve the interests of the business communities in both countries.
The meeting was held at the FCCI office in Dubai between Humaid Mohamed bin Salem, Secretary-general of the Federation of the FCCI, and Zaidi Asraf Idris, Deputy Director, Consulate General of Malaysia (Investment Section), MIDA, in the presence of Ahmed Juma Al Qizi, Assistant Secretary General of the FCCI.
Humaid Salem said, “The UAE business sector is seeking to strengthen its relations with Southeast Asian countries, including Malaysia, especially since the economies of these countries are the fastest growing in the world.”
For his part, Zaidi Idris stressed the importance of exchanging visits between businessmen and investors and introducing them to promising trade and investment opportunities.
At the beginning of this month, The UAE Federation of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry discussed the potential formation of a joint business council with Latvia. The proposal was made at a meeting between Humaid Mohammed bin Salem, Secretary-general of the FCCI, and Dana Goldfinča, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to the UAE, at the FCCI’S office in Dubai.
