UAE advocates implementing Artificial Intelligence in workplace

Businesses have begun rethinking organisational structures, automation, and the general use of AI tools to drive growth and profitability without radically affecting the workforce

The biggest second-order effect of the Middle East’s increasingly prosperous business landscape has been the emergence of a diverse, global workforce in the region. In the UAE, for instance, the private sector currently employs more than 5 million non-national workers. Add to that the rising number of remote experts who work for businesses in the Middle East and the region’s unique placement as a global hub of businesses, diverse workforces have become more than just the norm.

All of this also comes within the context of UAE’S push in adopting and implementing AI in workplaces. Digital transformation initiatives by the governments, like the UAE National AI Strategy 2031, have already begun changing the order of business on ground. Businesses have begun rethinking organizational structures, automation, and the general use of AI tools to drive growth and profitability without radically affecting the workforce.

It stands to reason that to keep the wheels turning, employee satisfaction and organizational efficiency are going to be the biggest considerations for businesses in the region. At that juncture, Ramco Payce, a revolutionary platform-based payroll software by Ramco Systems, promises to play a pivotal role as it makes its debut in the UAE. Unveiled at an event at the

Pullman Downtown Dubai on Tuesday, Payce is gearing up to transform how businesses in the UAE manage their payroll processes, making it more agile.

Payce’s mission is to leverage data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) to help payroll teams across the region make operational improvements, freeing them up to play more prominent roles in the boardroom and focus on broader, long-term goals.

During the product walkthrough, Sundar Subramanian, CEO of Ramco Systems, emphasized the significance of Ramco Payce for businesses in the Middle East. “Ramco’s journey in the Middle East has been nothing short of remarkable, with the region becoming an integral part of our success story. Having garnered some marquee brand names, Ramco’s payroll solution has witnessed rapid growth in the region in recent years. Amid the increasing globalization, diversification, and remote nature of workforces, we understand the challenges businesses face with payroll. Ramco Payce is tailored to lower payroll burdens while simplifying processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance and boosting employee satisfaction,” Sundar said.

Regulatory frameworks vary significantly across countries, which is a challenge on multiple fronts for businesses that employ geographically dispersed workforces. Timely and accurate payroll functions are already a daily operational challenge. Compliance with different countries’ frameworks comes into play as well, and any processing errors could lead to unintended consequences, adversely impacting employee happiness and, ultimately, productivity.

Payce’s Exclusive HR Leadership Series themed ‘From Paychecks to Performance’ provided a glimpse into the advanced technologies Ramco is bringing into its solution, to avoid the above scenario. With AI, ML tech at the heart of the product, Payce is designed to drastically reduce errors in payments through features like anomaly engine, prebuilt country-specific configurations for faster and hassle-free implementations and personalized chatbots for any payroll-related queries that employees might have.

Rohit Mathur, SVP & SBU Head, Global Payroll & HR at Ramco Systems, highlighted the key features that enable this. Mathur stated, “Ramco Payce will streamline and simplify the complex payroll processing, empowering organizations and payroll professionals with enhanced efficiency. With the capability to handle large data volumes within minutes, Ramco’s lightning-fast payroll processing, coupled with features like self-service reporting, no-code rule builder, and payroll workspaces, will redefine the landscape of payroll transformation.”

The broader solution is powered by AI & Ml-based anomaly & reasoning engine, data-driven insights, and self-service reporting tools that will provide boardrooms with visibility of crucial long-term factors such as pay parity and inclusion. Apart from being a tool that eases payroll functions, Payce is expected to make a significant impact on the user experience and autonomy of data that will further enable a more satisfied workforce. Predictive analytics, too, will play an integral role in forecasting emerging payroll trends and identifying anomalies.

“A great payroll system isn’t just about the bottom line. Ultimately, you want your payroll team to become more focused on results and free them up to tackle strategic initiatives,” Sundar added.

With an already established presence in the Middle East, Payce is well-placed to deliver incremental wins to Ramco across the region. Following its Dubai launch, the company also launched the product in Riyadh, emphasizing Payce’s accessibility to businesses in the KSA.
