Step by step our aim is to show the activity, success and solidarity of the hospitality family in the Middle East

With the opening of thousands of hotels, restaurants and similar establishments, the lack of experienced employees is being seriously felt by all owners and managers. As hotel business is often carried out on an international level, so staff training should also be considered an international job.

In modern hotel business, the level of food and service depends on the quality of employees. These qualities are concerned with the knowledge, skills and thoughts, which will lead to a hotel’s survival and development. Successful hotels include staff training as one of their most important development strategies.

Not only employees but also management would benefit from staff training; customers and guests benefit as well because of received quality products. This, in turn, means that services and hotels will have greater profits in return.

The cost of training is not an expense but should be considered as an investment. The given training is differentiated by disparate groups; firstly the top management group, secondly the supervising management group. The third group consists of front line employees who participate in operations (food preparation etc.) and in providing services.

Trainings are separated into in-house training, on the job training and outside training. Practical staff training is a management tool, which increases work effectiveness, helps employees and the company itself to positively compete with others and reduces wastage.

Practical staff training increases communication between management and employees by getting feedback from employees, to know what they like and what can be improved, in order to achieve a better outcome.

With new development of technology and the whole business environment, employees are nowadays requested to be more skilled and qualified, bringing a greater professional knowledge with them to meet future challenges.

Practical staff training is a way of improving employee skills, helping them perform better, expanding their knowledge, preparing themselves for continued self-development and enabling them to express their creativity and energy.

Individuals will relate to the success of the hotel by performing better, facing competition with confidence and achieving business objectives.

The importance and value of staff training has been recognized; consider the often repeated quote, “Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day. Teach a person to fish and you feed them for a lifetime.”
