Panting and Parkin duo excel at Socius Pairs event

DUBAI: The pair of Warren Panting and Tobias Parkin won the Socuis Pairs at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club on Friday.

The pair scored a superb 42 which included three gross and four net birdies. Coming in second place was the pair of Ishwar Johda and Mark Dennehy, this score included 6 net birdies but a no score on the second hole took them out of contention for first prize.

Finishing third and securing the last spot for the final was the team of Kristi Sealey and Shiba Khan, the duo had missed out on a qualificat­ion spot twice in the past but managed to sneak in on the last event.

Finishing fourth and missing out on a top three spot by a card playoff was Bilel Belaid and Joseph Ghossoub, luckily these two had qualified in previous events.

As well as the top 4 prizes there were 11 on course prizes allowing the rest of the competitor­s to still have a chance to win a prize on the day.

The nearest the pin prizes on hole 8, 14 and16 were won by Bilel Belaid, JP Fitzgerald and Tobias Parkin.

The nearest the pin in 2 prizes on holes 1, 2, 6 and 11 were won by Wayne Merrick, Michael Mcginley, JP Fitzgerald and Mark Dennehy.
