#METOO MOMENT?

WELL well, it looks like Mrs Lioness had her #Metoo moment as well. Perhaps he asked what’s for dinner after a long day of her slogging it out with the cubs. Or maybe he left the toilet seat up. Or perhaps he was trying to mate and she was in no mood for lovemaking which would mean rape without her consent. As the report says, we’ll never know. ( ‘Lioness kills father,’ Oct. 22, The Gulf Today).

On a more serious note, she must have lost her marbles after being in ‘captivity’ of the zoo. Also, the zoo isn’t a natural environment, there are constraints on natural behaviour and natural movement. the biggest constraint is that on being a predator - stalking, inding and killing one’s own prey for dinner. Such constraints would surely get to us humans - not being allowed what is natural to our nature. A human in these conditions would be diagnosed with PTSD or post traumatic stress disorder and be prescribed therapy. What did the Lioness do? She vented out her stress upon her own.
