Author predicted the rise of Kamal Harris

- IRENE SHONE BG CORRESPONDENT

The Botswana based creative author of the best- selling b o o k , ‘ I n s i g h t s o f a n X Chromosome Idealist’, Lesego Montsho’s revelation as a writer has hit the nail about her predictions of the now Vice President elect of the USA, Kamala Harris.

In this book, which covers a wide array of subjects that affects the quality of life in the digital age, of which the greater part of the book is focused on provoking a woman, to stand out, Montsho has used many greater women of the world as examples. She reaffirms the spark and a realization of the power, strength and sense of leadership, equanimity, intelligence and the elegance that’s bestowed in women. This, she did by reflecting and highlighting using examples of great women that the world has ever had, amongst them; Oprah Winfrey, Elizabeth Blackwell, Kamala Harris, Sonia Ghandi, and Inonge Wina from Zambia. These are the women she says have done greatly in their different areas in finance, technology, science, politics and computing to mention a few, just to point out that what is bestowed in them is greater assets that could benefit the entire world. “This was to show that women also have great potential, and ability to transform the world and carry the gift to be multipliers, as they often impart in children skills and training that leads them to be specific leaders across all aspects in life,” she said.

She is of the view that these influential women can change anyone’s life whether male or female, just through socialising them into learning by teaching them good mannerism and shaping their character in any realm that they go into.

Published in 2018, Montsho writes in her book that; “Kamala is a woman of truthfulness and she is the mouth piece of the silent majority in issues of racism, sexism, anti- Semitism, sexual abuse, transphobia and many more which need to be dealt with only through speaking the truth. She is a straight forward woman who is more

concerned about serving humanity and that makes her a great female leading light. Her heart of service for humankind has been portrayed in many instances where she chose to put her own life at risk for the safety of other people.”

When it was announced over the past weekend that Harris is the new vice president of the USA, most of Montsho's readers were quick to remember the chapter in which she expressed her confidence for the renowned Harris, and some even went on to question if she is a prophetess. Many were interested in the paragraph of the book; “Harris is the type of a woman who uses her career to fight for the overlooked and side- lined. In my judgement, women like Harris are very proficient and more pertinent for presidency. I do not have any doubt that she is going to make history in the politics of USA and the world as a whole.” Approached for a comment about this, Montsho could not hide her excitement and being contented about her revelation, She told BG Style that, “authors are observers, and pen down the echoes of what our eyes reflect in society. Our eyes are like mirrors, they see things and they print pictures of what is painted in the mind and turn it into a beautiful portrait through what we write, through words using a paper or a paper and a pencil to try to narrate how things will turn out and share with ordinary people. I saw this courage in Kamala through the way she speaks with strength and generally does everything, so I knew that at some point she would make a big impact in the lives of people, and there is still more to her that is yet to bless the entire globe. That is why I saw it needy to share with other people; so for me it is a proud moment.”

Montsho is of the view that women leadership is entirely about transformation, and living in a male dominated world, it is a good thing to have more women at leadership positions. “If they have that ability to raise people in that sense then the very same women have more sense of leadership and that is enough to cause women to step up in positions of leadership and presidency of countries, just like Kamala Harris did,” she said.
