Ambitious VTM bags Umbro
...as KRFA club launches technical sponsorship
Kweneng Regional Football Association ( KRFA) Division 1 side VTM Football Club has formally announced the signing of a partnership agreement with technical sponsor, Umbro. The technical sponsorship will run for the entire 2020/ 2021 season.
Speaking at the launch held at Club offices in Tlokweng, Umbro Country Representative Pius Mokhwela said they were inspired by the club’s uncompromising desire to succeed. “We look forward to working alongside them in pursuit for success thereof.
“With over 90 years of experience in the football industry, Umbro has developed a culture of excellence that has allowed us to work within the region and become a credible supporter of the Botswana football landscape at all levels.”
He added that through their engagements with the club’s management, it is evident that commitment to excellence is one of many shared values. “There is a unifying commonality that we share: a genuine passion for football and particularly Botswana football that extends beyond titles of club and sponsor,” Mokhwela added.
Mokhwela says they have produced a world standard kit for the team without a doubt, “the values of VTM Security Football Club and Umbro are fully aligned and our passion for development and growth go hand in hand with one another.”
For his part, Botswana Association
( BFA) 1st Vice President Pelotshweu Motlogelwa said he was impressed that the team is well ahead of other clubs in the elite league and they are walking the talk of transformation.“At BFA we have been talking commercialization and transformation, it appears this team is walking the talk and doing things that are out of the ordinary through its management and structures.” Motlogelwa said he is glad the team is pushing their brand through activation which he believes will help the team reach many spectators across the country. The team is made up of youngsters who are also offered job opportunities in the security company; they get winning bonuses once in a while to keep them motivated. They are coached by former Township Rollers player Otlaantshekela Mooketsi who is making a mark as a young coach. Other sponsors that are expected to form a long partnership with the team include Keno Custom Suits and Reliance Holdings.
