In a year when the hospitality industry has suffered a lot, Mosha Wellness Spa is becoming a beacon of hope for many in the industry. The local business has clinched an exciting award that shines the spotlight on Botswana.
The local business located at the Avani Gaborone Resort and Casino was last week bestowed with the Best in Luxury Spa Award by the World Spa Awards ( Africa). They were nominated alongside other luxurious Spas that include Beauty Expert by Mandala Wellness Group ( Rosebank), Camelot Spa at the African Pride ( Melrose Arch Hotel), Life Day Spa ( Fourways), Sante Wellness Retreat ( Cape
Town) and Sediko Bush Spa at Palala Boutique Game Lodge.
All the brands in this respective category are the quintessence of luxury, and all stood a pretty good chance to walk away as the winner. All of the five above mentioned nominees are South African based businesses.
They were also nominated under the Best Wellness Spa in the World Luxury Spa Awards. This was the sixth edition of the World Spa Awards competition. The award will arrive in Botswana sometimes in December, and it will be one big celebration to finally get hold of this prestigious award.
The winning tag team that is at the helm of Mosha is none other than mother and daughter team; Sharmaine Ernst and Lezanda Kubie form a formidable duo, complimented by their hardworking team who always go an extra mile. In an interview with BG Style, they are all smiles. It also means that it will shine the spotlight on Mosha, and when people search for luxury spa awards, the local business will also be in the same level. “We are excited about this win.
It has been a long year, and the award is inspiration to everyone here,” says Kubie. She explains that they are proud about this achievement, and that they are looking forward to welcoming international tourists who wish to get a taste of Mosha magic.
“This is the perfect end to a stressful year. And we are proud to have represented Botswana very well,” she says adding that they appreciate the support from all those who voted for them.
She further points out that they will be featured in the World Spa Guide magazine, which will open many doors for them.
The World Luxury Spa Awards, is an established global organisation providing luxury spas with recognition for their world class facilities and service excellence provided to guests.
The first awards were held in 2015, and the competition has grown over the years, with the sister programme, World Travel Awards having been rewarding excellence in the travel and tourism industry for the past 27 years. Services that Mosha offers include facial treatments such as Theravine facials, Kalahari facials, body scrubs, Hair removal treatments, Hand and Feet treatments, and Body treatments ( they include massages, Swedish therapy massage, aromatherapy massage, deep tissue massage, and hot stone massage therapy).
