Barber for your room service

- IRENE SHONE BG CORRESPONDENT

Scissors & Uppercuts, a mobile barbershop that focuses on stylish and trending hair cuts, pride itself in taking services to people’s homes.

Their Managing Director at Scissors & Uppercuts, Seeletso Reikeletseng tells BG Style that offering an ultimate salon experience at the comfort of customer’s home, is what sets them apart. He explains that they are a new service that only came out during lockdown and has been welcome by many. “This is a new service in Botswana market, the idea came about during lockdown, and we are glad that this fresh idea brings convenience to our clients,” he said. The barbers of style launched on October 1st to share their distinctive service.

They are driven by professionalism and skill, and therefore specialize on the ‘ fade’ cut, which they are popularly known for. Reikeletseng shares that although they have stolen people’s hearts within the industry, they have never owned a salon before nor did any hairstyling but their crucial thinking earned them a place within the industry. He explains that hygiene is their key factor, and so their clients never have to worry about getting a classic hairstyle from home because they have it figured out all together.

“We bring our apron proudly printed in our logo and ensure that our clients feel special and protected as we also adhere to the Covid- 19 protocols while at work,” he said. He emphasizes that they cut both the young and the old. “We are really grateful for the feedback that we receive. Batswana are calling us for the service, as they do not want to leave their houses, and often applaud us saying that this saves them from queues out there,” he said.

Their brand ambassador is Chyna Mokaila, a well- known trainer for Township Rollers and Zebras. He wears that clean hair courtesy of Scissors & Uppercuts. “In him we have attracted our clients as they could see our magic on his head hence the high demand and our prompt responses, professionalism and skill,” explained Reikeletseng, noting that their barbers are always readily available to serve with style and love.

While they are recognized for their ‘ fade’ cut, they also do brush cut, tint, twist and style, bob cut, crochet, chiskop and also connect Durban dreads. For them, looking good can never be complete without clean and a perfect hairstyle. Reikeletseng reiterates that good hair is part of both hygiene and a makeup to other people. “Good hair and good shoes always make one to stand out in their outfits, that is why we make sure that our hair cuts stand out,” he said. They currently operate in Gaborone only, and looking forward to stretching out to other places soon, to deliver their unique service.
