AFROBOTHO HOSTS SOUL CATCH UP SESSION

- BG REPORTER

Afro Botho will be hosting an intimate Soul Catch up day on April 24th in Lobatse. The event is open to those, whose soul feel weary, exhausted and need time to reconnect with themselves. MotherK Masire, the organiser, who is also a mindfulness teacher and coach, says the event will allow them to slow down, and recognize and appreciate that everything around us has been moving at a fast pace, and allow guests to pause and let their soul catch up with them.

“This will allow us to pay attention to emotions under the surface and remember what really matters,” she explains.

She further says that guests can also look forward to indulging in mindfulness eating. On the day, the organizers will be serving plant- based food prepared with love by the Avo Tree Good Food and Catering, a company that specializes in yummy plant- based meals.

“We want the guests to experience Mindful eating practice, one of the practices that develop an empowered relationship with food,” she says. Other activities to look forward to include

intuitive journaling, grounding exercises, creative expression, breath and movement work.

“These activities demand that we slow down Body, Mind and Soul,” she

explains.

The lockdown mode has thrown many quite a number of challenges and disruptions. Often times, since the world was brought down to its knees, a lot of people find themselves overwhelmed and stressed as they try to navigate and find a way out of the new maze that is the new normal.

Surviving and navigating life through a pandemic has affected most of our mental health and wellness. And if we do not feel the connection and relative control over our life, we may start to lose our motivation. This feeling can turn into sadness or anxiety. And it is during these times that self- care is crucial to good mental and physical health, says Masire.

She explains that low grade depression such as feeling blue; lethargy; fatigue, irritability; anger, melancholy, grief and anxiety are the current indicators going off in many of us, now that we are past the initial shock wave of the pandemic. These, she says are just some symptoms asking us to stop and Check In.

Ticket for the event is P900.00 inclusive of a barefoot sandal as all the guests will be requested to walk bare foot during the event.
