Love Spark BW finds niche

In the business of rekindling intimacy

- IRENE SHONE BG CORRESPONDENT

Love Spark BW is set to revive love within couples and ensure that people embrace different occasions in a personalised and unique gesture.

For the relatively new company that was born last year during lockdown, they believe that Botswana culture somehow limits people to express themselves and celebrate their loved ones. What has now become a provision of services was influenced by keeping the spark in their love while locked up in a house and not exposed to the outside environment as the country tried to contain the pandemic through the initial lockdown.

Like many other people who admit that this period allowed them to reflect and learn what they are talented at, the owners of Love Spark BW, also note that what has always been a passion and a dream was now activated and put into reality. Director at the company, Oga Mangole shares that after a long time of being a fascinator of lifestyle and lovely things, she has managed to step out of her comfort zone. “I have always had passion for events, décor and beauty but never really thought much into it being a business.

During lockdown, my husband and I were both at home most of the time, so we had to find something fun to do so that we don’t bore each other. That was when I started planning home dates for us to keep the spark on,” she said.

Mangole tells BG Style that this indeed revived their love spark and helped a lot in their marriage as they drew more closer. “I then thought that if this has worked for us, then it could benefit other couples out there, so I started researching more and found a niche market; it then started operating solely to revive the love spark in our communities,” she explains. “When I shared with my husband, Lesego Mangole that we could change other people’s lives through our services, he also agreed and so we never looked back since then,” added. They therefore specialise in creating personalised dating experience for all occasions, designing romantic ambiance, gifting, arranging meals, entertainment and accommodation to give people that once in a lifetime experience. She further shares that their mission is to turn moments into memories, and also make people aware that love is beautiful and needs to be nurtured. They also admit that it doesn’t have to be about a getaway all the time, as they can set up their beautiful magic at people’s homes for those who prefer their private space.

So far, they receive good feedback and get enquiries from people as far as Maun and Francistown although they are based in Gaborone and mostly reach out to surrounding places. Mangole shares that they just started advertising their business on facebook and their first client was Dr Gure Gure, who fortunately helped them with exposure through his page after they offered him a service. “After that single service, we never stopped as we have seen a lot of people calling for our services for different occasions,” she said, reiterating that the target market is mostly couples, families and friends and they have realized that through their services, the locals are now into this culture of keeping the love spark and they surprise their loved ones with the services. “My husband and I love seeing people happy in relationships. It is more than just making money out of this service but help couples celebrate each other and keep the spark in their love lives; and we are glad that we are changing lives and embracing love,” said Mangole.
