Morocco based duo boosts Zebras camp

interim head coach Letang Kgengwenya­ne plenty of time to adjust his tactics ahead of the two crucial games against Eswatini and Lesotho. The duo can help the Zebras in its quest to qualify for the semifinals of the tournament.

The Zebras narrowly lost their Tuesday opening game to bitter rivals South Africa 0- 1, however, Coach Letang Kgengwenya­ne this week told journalist­s that there is a lot to improve especially their entry into the final third.

He added that the game was tactical and competitiv­e hence it gave them a good start and match fitness among other things, “we cannot only develop match fitness through physical training, we need to play games to develop our match fitness, but we did our best.” Botswana takes on Lesotho this Saturday and they will complete the group action against Eswatini next Wednesday. The group stages will be completed on July 14, with the semifinals for the three group winners and best- placed runner- up to be played two days later at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

The winner of Group A, which includes, South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana and Eswatini, will take on the best runner- up in the semis, with the victors in Groups B consisting of Zambia, Malawi, Comoros, and Madagascar taking on the winners of Group C of Senegal, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Mozambique.

The losing semifinali­sts will be involved in the bronze- medal match on July 18, with the final to be staged later in the day. Both are at the magnificen­t 2010 FIFA World Cup venue, Nelson Mandela Bay.
