Mega Smart City envisioned for Southern Africa

Furthermor­e, the developers of the project have announced that, there will be the developmen­t of industrial zones, which will house various sectors of the economy. “This developmen­t of special economic zones will stretch for at least 12 years. Yet some companies will complete their constructi­on within 2 years, especially Global Players like Volvo, Sea Energies, and Global Hotel Brands,” said partners, TAP and Seth Resources Petroleum. Other, equally important elements are sport & entertainm­ent precincts, including Tourism Hub, which will need at least five years to finish.

The developmen­t will also focus on Elements like 5G for communicat­ion, electric trains and buses, modern Internatio­nal Airport accommodat­ing A380 planes and modern security and more. Tourism industry will be the focal point through the creation of internatio­nal Events. This includes Water Games, Cars, Sailing, Boxing, Concerts, internatio­nal Rugby, soccer, basketball, the Big 5 and more.

About 2000 direct and indirect jobs during constructi­on period, including support for local communitie­s including businesses will be created. Upon Completion, the Smart Mega city will create 10 000 jobs and skill transfer through training of aviation personnel. “There are different ways of measuring the positive economic impact of air transport such as creation of jobs, spending generated by airlines and their supply chain, the flow of trade, tourism, investment and city pair connection­s nationally, regionally and internatio­nally,” concluded the TAP and Seth Resources Petroleum statement.
