Absa Botswana partners Duke Corporate Education
As competition heightens in the banking sector, Absa Botswana has partnered with Duke Corporate Education ( CE) to grow future- focused capabilities within the bank, to drive growth, change and improved business performance. The development is expected to help empower and unlock employees’ potential by offering skills development to help them reach their career goals, as part of building long lasting succession pipelines and leadership competencies.
Through the Absa Botswana Retail Banking Academy, a programme has been crafted to facilitate sessions designed to enable participants and the
Bank’s team to elicit alignment to the Absa leadership credo and values.
“It is essential to equip our teams with the full range of skills, knowledge and attitudes being sought after by the bank and that they need to meet the ever- evolving needs of the corporate world. “As Absa Bank Botswana, we have prioritized education and skills development, and we are partnering with leading specialists to empower young talent with tools they need to keep up to date with latest human resource trends,” said Retail Director at Absa Bank Botswana, Valeta Mthimkhulu.
The initiative is to ensure that employees are equipped with adaptable, future skills to collaborate and work across functions as well as develop a future fit leadership mindset. In addition, the programme is scheduled to run for a 15- month period and will have the teams engaged in various training modules aimed to assist them to develop their leadership skills.
“Technologies and best practices are evolving and progressing in every industry, making it crucial for both new and experienced professionals to continue developing their skills and honing their knowledge and we believe that our partnership with Duke CE will enable stronger outcomes,” said Mthimkhulu.
Meanwhile, Duke CE is the premier global provider of leadership solutions, established in July 2000, and associated with Duke University.
