- IRENE SHONE BG CORRESPONDENT

Boteti Tented Safari Lodge is one of amazing places one can find locally for a lovely scenery to unwind and for therapeutic purposes..

Situated about 20 minutes from Maun, in Xobe Settlement, on the banks of the Boteti River, lies this beautiful tented resort, offering out of this world safari activities. The place has interestingly started operating officially early this year but has gained so much positive feedback as people find themselves refreshing at the lovely resort. They boast of a variety of safari activities including, game drives in Moremi, Khwai, Makgadikgadi Pans, Nxai Pans and Mokoro Safaris in the delta, something that makes the place unique, as those who visit get exposed to the beauty that the safari world in Botswana can offer through their different amazing routes.

They also have scenic flights by plane or helicopter, which they say most people enjoy. Horseback safaris, boating and fishing safaris are also one of the activities that always keep clients captivated at Boteti Safaris. Admin and Booking Agent, Nedine Froneman says that with all these activities, they have definitely managed to soar and be recognized as one of the best serving safaris through their delivery. He adds that, their tented accommodation also provides the safari luxury on its own as people come from their normal houses to experience a different lifestyle. This, he says is a favourite to many during summer season as the tents are always cooler, especially at night, giving that fresh and serene cool nights people desire in the hot climate of the Maun surroundings. He adds that if there is one thing that already keeps them going is the fact that, their staff is frequently complimented, and this to them, shows that they are doing something right. “Our guests are very happy, and our staff gets complimented a lot for their hospitality,” he says. “The guests love the delicious and traditional food our chef serves, and they absolutely love the true Botswana experience they get through our mouth- watering Tswana cuisine dishes,” he adds.

“We also offer a wide variety of mobile safaris throughout Botswana as well as provide a complimentary prior one’s stay, with a two hour sunset mokoro safari on the Boteti river and a complimentary trip of Maun pick and drop off, to give our guests the comfort and assurance they deserve to reach our destination,” says Froneman.

He maintains that, nothing beats watching the sun set at their camp, while waiting for that yummy dinner, as their professional chef never disappoints with a variety of meals. “I am convinced that, it is also our exclusive attention to our guests that makes them feel special and home away from home, as they keep on coming back,” he says. Their delicious dinners are served at the Boma area and they currently have five tents available, all with ensuite bathrooms, each with a private deck.

Froneman says they are all about promoting safari in Botswana, and they look forward to expanding.
