Security Systems chases FA cup
Tlokweng- based side, Security Systems has picked form at the right moment in the season as they finished inside the top 8 in the Botswana Football League ( BFL) season, and now the team is chasing its first ever domestic trophy.
As the season enters its final stretch and the Orange FA Cup reaches the semifinal stage, the Alarm boys are in a good position in both fronts, having reached the last four of the Cup and finding a spot inside the top eight.
Systems face fellow competitors BDF XI in the semifinals of the Orange- sponsored competition on June 11th for a berth in a first ever final.
In the league, the 6th placed team has been a force to be reckoned with and should they carry the momentum forward they can find themselves in the final. Systems have met BDF XI in the mid season Charity Cup tournament and the Alarm Boys emerged victorious over their opponents after a penalty shootout, following a 1- 1 score line.
Systems have been brewing a lot of talent and almost all of their youngsters are raising their hands and showing that they can bring the team closer to success; the likes of Letlhogonolo Chenjela, Benson Mangolo, Eric Molefi, Thalefang Molaodi, Morris Ruzivo and Thato Ogopotse are the blend that makes the team tick through experience and youthfulness. The Security Systems coach, Kaelo ‘ Wire’ Kaelo has been credited with transforming the team and has been proving to be a hard nut to crack especially when he is up against BDF XI coach, Letang Kgengwenyane. However, Kgengwenyane would not want to be a deal breaker to his counterparts as his team is also looking to finish the season with a piece of silverware. BDF
XI must be wary of the giant killers, who have been troublesome to both Township Rollers and Gaborone United in the league, the team was also a pricking thorn to Jwaneng Galaxy.
BDF XI will count on Thabo Metlhayotlhe, Tumisang Pule and Tefo Molefe for the goals in the semifinal which will be played at the National Stadium. On the other hand, the marauding Gaborone United have to negotiate a final spot against
spirited Matebele FC who have been described as a giant killer in the tournament having knocked out Jwaneng Galaxy in the quarterfinals.
Matebele will look to cause yet another upset when they meet Gaborone United in the semifinals. Given their growing reputation in the Debswana First Division South ( DFDS) league, the team is forth on the log and still chasing the play off spot.
