Backyard Bars the in- thing

-

The company is of the belief that every home must have a well- equipped and dedicated space for entertaining family and friends. At the height of the State of the Emergency, most of their clients realised that indeed their homes were depressing, and that it was about time that home owners invested in these entertainment centres not just to add value but to also bring joy to their households, explains Rangaka. Which is where the Interior design company comes in. The reveals of the many projects that they have completed are breathtakingly beautiful. Above all, they have illustrated that just about any space can be given a facelift, and turned into anything that their client desires. And that one does not have to go and spend time away from their home, giving them the opportunity to enjoy the company of their friends and family right at home without stepping outside.

He explains that they offer services that include Bars ( both at home, restaurants,) and shop sitting, exhibition stalls/ show rooms, as well as mobile bars and set- ups. A good portion of their clients, he notes, are home owners who wish to have their very own bars at home, a trend that grew during the lockdowns, when bars were closed and there was a drought for alcohol.

“We offer these services of bars at home and anything that compliments a home including customising furniture,” he explains.

Presently, he notes that they have more than 10 requests for the bar service, and that some are currently under construction, proof that Batswana have embraced this part of their service with open arms.

He also says that one of the key things that they look at when they start working on a project, is the space and its location. The design will be inspired by part of those two factors. Other factors include whether they will have to relocate anything that they find in that space such as air conditions. “We also look at the budget which determines the finished product that you will get,” says Rangaka.

Other issues would also include the type of space they find. In some cases, they will have a space that already has a wall, and in other instances, it will just be an open space. And this is where they need to apply their creative skills to give clients the kind of space that will leave them breathless.

“Other clients want small offices at home, small spa centres and beauty shops,” he notes.

Other key issues that influence their finished product include the position of that particular space, and the potential of what they can get out of it.

One thing that their clients gravitate towards when it comes to the finished look is a contemporary look. Most are moving with trends, and this is a particular style that is in demand right now. “Some want less clutter, as they believe that less is more,” he notes.

So which colours are trending, this one he says is subjective. Some clients want to get a nightclub type of look and would go for grey and black, with others opting for nude colours.

“Others want a bright place with big windows and natural light,” he explains.

Is there a particular project that he really loved and wished that he could have that design at his home? Well there is one that they recently handed over. What made it special is the fact that it had an arch type in the form of a triangle. “It turned up very well. It felt like it was my space and I would have enjoyed to have something like that at my house,” he shares.

In future, they want to have a one stop shop where they will have services that include painting and electricity as most of the times they have to outsource some of the services.
