- BG REPORTER

Gilbert Seagile of Gilbert Promotions has expanded his business. Not only is Seagile, popularly known by the nickname of PP, a household name in the local entertainment industry, but now he has opened a place where he can continue to entertain Batswana. The place happens to be a club called Cloud 9, located in Block 6 shopping complex. The club was officially opened last week Thursday by the Minister of Labour and Home Affairs, Anna Mokgethi.

Speaking at the launch, Seagile explained what he was unveiling started as a dream. He said that he had done his research and noticed that there was a gap in the market, in terms of catering to the younger audience or what he termed as the Urban youth. This type of market, he said were still young, and had the energy to dance the whole night.

He further explained that they were intending to create a bulk SMS system where each client who walked through the doors, * would register the name of a next of kin, or a friend, whom the club management can call in the event that the client was not in the best state. This system, he said would also allow them to check on their patrons and see whether they have safely arrived at their destination.

“It will also allow us to call that registered next of kin or relative to come and pick up the patron in question. We also want to create a platform where we can call cabs for our patrons,” he said.

He further said that he wanted to transform the club to become a hub of entertainment.

“We have a VIP lounge, and can also host special meetings and private sessions here,” he said.

For her part, the Minister of Labour and Home Affairs, and MP for Bonnington North hailed this big move from PP. She said that entertainment creates a positive mood and that businesses like his need to be given endorsement.

“This is a place where you can come and let your hair down,” she said.

She further said that a club was a place where everyone must feel safe, and called on PP and his management to ensure that everyone who walked through their doors was safe at all times.

“In the event that the police come through, welcome them with open arms,” she urged.
