BFA accused of witch hunt

- City Keagakwa BG Correspondent

Botswana Football Association ( BFA) is once more under heavy scrutiny following accusations that the current National Executive Committee ( NEC) members are plotting a move to remove some members of the judicial committee out of office. The associations’ top brass will seek ratification of their proposed changes this weekend, November 26, 2022, at the BFA Ordinary General Assembly which will be held at Grand Aria Hotel in Gaborone.

The current Judicial Bodies were elected following the BFA Annual General Assembly on the 10th October 2020 and were inducted into office in February 20, 2021. They are supposed to serve for four ( 4) years according to the constitution but can be removed from office if there are justifiable reasons to effect. It appears that the current judicial members could be unceremoniously heading for BFA exit doors before the end of their term.

“The secretariat is faced with non- performance from certain members of the judicial bodies either by lack of participation or carrying out their mandate which leads to underperformance overall of the committees and it affects our stakeholders and our reputation badly.

“The secretariat proposes that certain members be relieved of their duties as per Article 56.3 of the Constitution and be replaced with new members pending approval by the General Assembly after completion of their pending matters,” some parts

of a leaked document to this publication, titled ‘ MATTERS FOR RATIFICATION BY THE AGA 2022’ read. In the aftermath of infamous Onkarabile Ratanang’s registration saga, reports suggest

that the echelons of power at the association were left far from impressed by the rulings of the BFA
