As the year begins, Gilbert Promotions already has something ahead of the festive season, with their brand new concept dubbed ‘ City Lights New Year’s eve’ festival.

Creative Director at Gilbert Promotions, Gilbert Seagile aka PP WA Pimp says their mission is to always close an unnecessary gap within the entertainment industry. His observation is that, most of the city dwellers in Gaborone normally travel back to their home villages to welcome the new year, as most promoters organise their year end events there. “Those left behind in the city, normally battle with the ‘ depression’ of missing the events organized at their home villages while they are stuck in Gaborone. So this year, Gilbert Promotions is changing this narrative through this exclusive show,” he explains. He tells BG Style that this unique concept runs under the slogan, ‘ The world comes to the City of Gaborone’, and they are intentional about making the event to be the best memorable one ever.

“City Lights looks to spur a glow in the city and the econcept is expected to be used as a tourist attraction tool with the year- end feel and thereby attracting more visitors to come to the capital city for entertainment and exploring various activities that the event has in store,” explained Seagile.

He emphasized that Gilbert Promotions aims at continuing to unearth more concepts and working with more creative artists who are in demand locally and regionally in developing Botswana’s creative industry.

“We plan on promoting this event to the global community, as a way of industrializing the creative sector and as a leader in the event promotions space, my role has helped to identify possibilities and opportunities in hosting an event of such a magnitude with consideration to the City’s economic value,” added Seagile.

“We are looking to leverage and benchmark on various established similar events and confident that our execution will ensure a well packaged concept,” Seagile said.

City lights New Year’s eve festival is slated for December 31st 2023 in Gaborone. They have therefore opened for partnership and sponsorship relations who wish to sail with them on this lifestyle concept. Seagile is proud to share that, so far the community of Gaborone is excited about this initiative, and so they are ready to deliver as promised.
