Netball officials take up World Cup roles
The Botswana Netball Association President, Ms. Malebo Raditladi- Nkgakile, and Secretary General, Ms. Kelebogile Ntebo Maplanka, have been appointed to key positions in the upcoming World Cup administration.
Ms. Raditladi- Nkgakile has been named as the Safe Guarding and Welfare Officer for the World Netball Cup tournament, a role that will see her responsible for ensuring the well- being and safety of all participants. This includes players, coaches, officials, and staff.
She will also be responsible for implementing and monitoring the tournament’s safeguarding policies and procedures. The World Netball Cup will be held in Cape Town, South Africa on the 28th- 6th of August 2023. Ms. Maplanka, on the other hand, has been appointed as the Champion Data Official for the 2023 Netball Quad Series, the Quad Series is currently taking place in Cape Town, South Africa, having started on the 21st of January 2023 and will run until the 25th of January 2023. In this role, Ms Maplanka will be responsible for collecting and analyzing statistical data throughout the tournament. This includes statistics on player performance, team performance, and overall tournament results. She will also be responsible for providing this data to coaches, teams, and media, as well as to the International Netball Federation ( INF) for use in future planning and development of the sport.
Both appointments are a testament to the skill and experience of these two women in their respective fields, as well as to the growing recognition of Botswana as a growing netball nation.
Ms. Raditladi- Nkgakile and Ms. Maplanka bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to their new roles, having worked within the netball community for many years.
