MAUN, KASANE DONE WITH AUDITIONS
... for Miss Supranational Botswana
Something Big, the license holders of Miss Supranational has this past weekend, started Botswana auditions in Kasane, where they registered five ladies on Saturday, and eight in Maun on Sunday.
This means they have already attracted 13 beauty queens from the tourism destinations of Maun and Kasane, while they continue with the search around the country to gather as many as possible participants.
The Spokesperson of the pageant, Kaone Moremong told BG Style in an exclusive interview in Maun at Big Tree Valley Lodge where the auditions were held, that they are so far impressed by the feedback they got. She adds that they were impressed to have the presence of the multi award winning titles of pageantry, the young Shazia John who hails from Maun, as well as Tia Lekgowa, Miss Teen Junior Idol World who actually came for the auditions. The interesting part is that she was only arriving from
Thailand, a day before the auditions where she scooped the first Runners Up for Miss Junior Idol World.
“We were not really expecting a lot because we are aware that most people are away in the city for schools and work, so we are impressed with the numbers we got so far,” she said expressing gratitude to the talent scouters engaged in places to assist them look for the queen.
Thato Kayoba, regarded the best model in the country assisted with the search in Kasane while Tracia Elias, Miss Botswana finalist 2015, who owns a modelling agency in Maun, scouted for the queens in her area. Moremong shared that this weekend they will be in Gantsi and Kang, while they anticipate to be in Francistown/ Phikwe next weekend by February 4th, then travel to Palapye/ Jwaneng, the following weekend.
She further says after the search is over, they would have a talent show in Gaborone from the 30 beauty queens and select top 12 which would lead to the finale April 8th. They then anticipate to send the queen to Poland, end of July to represent the country.
Moremong also tells BG Style that they are currently working on the sponsorships of the prizes. She says she will walk away with a brand new Haval Jolion car, which she keeps alongside a Degree scholarship of her own choice from a recognized university. “Furthermore, she would also have a house to live in, during her reign in Gaborone with utilities paid, also be under our management team, have a premium gym experience, have a makeup artist at her disposal and have a monthly allowance of P3500. 00,” she explained. Above this, the newly crowned Miss Supranational Botswana would have a wardrobe worth P50 000.00. Moremong reiterates that they are using the strategy of national tour auditions to give an opportunity to everyone across the country because normally auditions for bigger pageants are only held in Gaborone.
