‘ Botswana to hugely benefit from hosting IAGR 2023’

-

Botswana is looking to reap huge benefits from hosting the IAGR conference from 16 – 19 October. Last week the IAGR revealed that it was on track to meet and potentially exceed the delegate turnout recorded in Melbourne last year. The IAGR conference provides opportunities for gambling and gaming regulators to engage, learn and network with industry peers through events, workshops, research, information sharing, and the development of best practices. Internationally acclaimed entrepreneur, futurist and innovator Earle G. Hall, who is also Chairman of the International Gaming Standards Association, will make a presentation on how Artificial Intelligence will transform the gaming and gambling industry. Hall is also Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of AXES. ai, a Fintech that is dedicated to the eradication of money laundering and addictive gambling through real- time IoT driven and cloud- based collection, artificial intelligence, and know your client ( KYC) cashless solutions. A panel headed by Kirsten Clark - Executive Director of the International Association of Gaming Advisors – will discuss how the industry can stay ahead of the online curve by managing shifting regulatory challenges and exploring opportunities. In response to this paradigm shift, the Gambling Authority of Botswana earlier this year announced that that it will start receiving applications for new gaming licenses for betting, bingo and limited payout machines. Peter Kesitilwe - Acting Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of the Gambling Authority opined that the Gambling Authority has to encourage more investment in the industry as a way of complementing Botswana’s transformational agenda and socioeconomic development. “Botswana’s gambling and gaming industry is still nascent, particularly in online gaming and betting. We must explore this sector’s latent value chain opportunities,” he said.
