- IRENE SHONE BG REPORTER

The newly crowned Miss Supranational Botswana, Leah Barobetse is already preparing to take the stage in Poland, where she will compete for the international title, Miss Supranational.

Being crowned Miss Supranational Botswana has become a dream come true for Barobetse, and she is grateful for the opportunity. “Being crowned as a new queen this past weekend has left me feeling incredibly excited. I have dreamt of becoming a queen since I was young, and now that dream has finally come true. It feels like perfect timing to reign as Queen on such a significant platform,” she told BG Style. As it is a norm for pageantries, to work on a project and benefit the community, the new queen was excited to share her project with this publication and said that her goal is to raise awareness on disability issues and ensure inclusion for those who are differently abled.

“My project is centred on transforming disability into ability and through my platform, I aim at raising awareness, promote acceptance, and advocate for equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities,” she said. She added that by leveraging her position, she intends to collaborate with organizations, Policy makers, and influencers to drive positive change and create a more inclusive society where everyone can thrive regardless of their abilities. Asked about her preparation for Poland, where she will compete against other nations for the world crown; she states that she has just started preparations and is hopeful that she will be ready by the time she travels. “I’m gearing up for Poland, but I haven’t quite reached the level I aspire to yet. I’m still in the preparation phase for this journey and I’m reaching out to the entire Botswana community for their support,” she said adding that she is confident that with the Miss Supranational Botswana team, she will manage to bring home the crown.

One of the organizers at Miss Supranational Botswana, Kaone Moremong, told this publication that they are excited to have crowned the second queen and preparing for the international crown. “We successfully hosted the second season of Miss Supranational Botswana this past weekend at BNYC and it was a beautiful moment, where Barobetse was crowned the queen after running the competition for the past two months,” she shared. The Supranational Botswana team takes pride in the fact that the finale was a success and their production breathed nothing short of world class. Moremong added that they are also happy and confident with the judges’ selection and have already started preparing the queen for the International pageant in Poland. Barobetse is expected to arrive in Poland on June 17th for the Supra- Experience and the finale will be on July 6th. Preparations for the finale include; getting her Visa ready, documenting her project and introductory videos, completing Miss Supranational international challenges, organising her a world class wardrobe as well as flight arrangements. Moremong has therefore pleaded for public support to ensure that the queen is equipped with the needed resources for the world pageant.

“We as the organisation continue in training her in pageantry etiquette. We are confident that Miss Barobetse will work hard with us to make sure we are placed high in Poland. Our goal is to win the International crown,” she said.
