Systems forced to postpone kit launch

- KABELO BORANABI

Premiership side, Security Systems has postponed its kit launch after failing to meet certain COVID-19 protocols on gatherings. The club was set to launch their new regalia to be used in the next football season.

The launch was supposed to have been held at the club’s head office in Tlokweng yesterday.

However, after more than an hour’s delay, the club’s public relations officer, Zolani Kraai informed journalists who had been patiently waiting that the event had been postponed. Kraai said the club had failed to fulfill certain protocols and they had to postpone the event to be on the right side of the law.

“It turns out that when planning this event, we omitted certain protocols we had to satisfy. It was an honest mistake from our end. For instance ,we were supposed to have prepared a list of all the attendees before the event, so we could know who is coming and who is not, but we failed to do that.

So we have decided to postpone the launch so we can meet the government regulations on gatherings. The management sends its apologies and we will call you once we have set a new date,” Kraai said.

Meanwhile, Systems have since started their preparations under a new technical team. Former head coach, Kaelo ‘Wire’ Kaelo has returned to the club as assistant coach while Under-20 coach, Keitumetse ‘Pio’ Paul is the head coach. Systems finished fourth in the last campaign just two points behind champions, Jwaneng Galaxy. This is the team’s highest ever finish.
