Zebras’ midfielder, Mothusi Cooper is reportedly pushing for an exit from Zambia’s Lusaka Dynamos after a dispute with the club. Cooper joined the ‘Elite’ in January on a two-year deal from Township Rollers.

The 24-year-old reportedly pocketed $25,000 (approximately P250,000) as a signing on fee while he was promised a salary of $5,000 (P50,000). But just over six months with the club, he has reportedly handed in a transfer request.

The player has been a subject of interest from clubs abroad from his time at Rollers, and he is reportedly eyeing a move to a bigger club or league, as per Mmegi Sport sources.

The player’s agent, Bakang Moipone of Extreme Sports was coy with details when quizzed by this publication. He, however, said there is a dispute with the club over some content of the player’s agreement and the matter has since been reported to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ).

“To be frank with you, we have a dispute with the club and it has since been reported to the law, in this case, the court is the FAZ since Cooper plays there. I would not like to go into details. I am not in a position to do so until the matter is resolved.

Everything is outlined in black and white in the contract and if any party fails to honour the contractual agreements then we have decided to take the issue before FAZ,” Moipone said. Cooper is said to be on the radar of the Czech Republic’s Slavia Prague, Egyptian side Ennpi FC, and Zambian giants Nkana FC amongst others. Dynamos have reportedly put a P3 million price tag on the central midfielder who is highly rated in Zambia.

“There is a lot of interest in Cooper. Teams are already enquiring about his services. There are three teams in Zambia including Nkana, which is a very big club. There is another one in Egypt and two more in Europe. But at the moment, I have told the clubs our hands are tied and until the matter is resolved we have to respect the fact that Cooper remains contracted to Lusaka Dynamos until next year,” Moipone said. In his first year with the Elite, Cooper won the Absa Cup in April.
