Sefalana gives away prizes birthday promotion lucky O the annual

-

Last Friday, Sefalana gave away prizes for its annual Mobile kiosk competition amidst fanfare. 28 lucky people were announced winners of the grand prizes and walked away with A moBilE kiosk EACh During A grAnD finAle draw held at Block 3 Hyper Store in Gaborone. Despite the disruptions of COVID-19, Sefalana did not disappoint once again to restore smiles on their customers’ faces as 52 others who did not win the grand prizes were awarded grocery vouchers worth P1 500 and P1000 a month for a period of 12 months.

The grocery vouchers were consolation prizes for 2nd and 3rd runners-up respectively. Speaking after the grand finale draw, Sefalana Marketing & Franchise Executive Reggie Klinck said the prizes will go a long way in relieving families the burden of buying groceries at least for the next 12 months. According to Klinck, the mobile kiosk worth over P55 000 is a life-long asset. Klinck said like any other retail and manufacturing businesses, Sefalana has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, he said this could not stop them from extending a compassionate hand to members of the society who also felt the brunt of the pandemic. He said it was only reasonable that they shared the little they made with their customers.

Klinck said COVID-19 has put a lot of strain on the availability of funds, as it depressed trading. He said retail companies took a pounding due to the new trading regulations, which were put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19. “But we still found it necessary to commit and do a promotion of this nature so that at the end of the day we give Batswana something that they can use to uplift themselves and that takes of a lot of pressure off people because things have been tough; a lot of businesses have closed,” said Klinck.

Klinck said many people’s earnings have been affected, putting pressure on them as they are wondering where their next meal is going to come from. “So this on its own is going to bring a lot of relief to the winners’ already tight budgets. As you know, food prices have been going up. Inflation is not on our side so things are going to be pretty tough but at least those who have won these prices can rest assured that for the next 12 months they know where they are going to get their next meal from and they worry about something else,” he added. The competition started on July 16 and ended September 5, 2021 and was sponsored to the tune of P1.8 million.

During the period of the completion, there were also weekly draws conducted at Sefalana’s different branches across the country. The winners of these draws each walked away with a 5000 Litre Jojo water tank and there were 196 of them in total.
