Absa Botswana has an exciting career opportunity for a strategic, high performing and self-driven individual across various functions. We are looking to fill the following role.
Overall job purpose
The role holder will be responsible for delivering an outstanding Absa experience to our valued customers and leading the branch to meet its goals. This role is a significant people leadership position with a strong focus on sales management, customer service excellence and running a well-controlled operation with engaged and enabled staff.
Main accountabilities
• Accountable for leading the branch team to achieve performance goals across areas of sales, customer service, operational controls, and people management.
• Create a high-performance culture within the branch
• Deliver branch performance in the key areas such as, sales growth, income contribution and total balance sheet (assets and liabilities), customer satisfaction performance, cost’s performance, risk management and rigor performance.
• Responsible for maintaining a healthy balance sheet in the branch
• Managing day to day branch operations and performance to achieve the best possible outcomes for customers and the business in line with
Regulation, Absa’ policy and best practice.
• Monitor and perform checks on key processes.
• Provide clear direction to branch staff on the Absa Retail business objectives, translating and prioritising into business performance measures at branch level.
• Lead the customer experience across all segments to ensure a seamless customer experience and handoffs and drive customer focused behavior in the branch by role modelling great customer service.
• Responsible for cost management in their branch
• Act as the escalation point for unresolved queries and complaints.
• Build relationships with key customers and businesses within the branch locality and develop the external market and community profile needed to maximise the local marketing opportunity
• Implement new product sets with assistance from specialist product managers and ensure all staff are fully aware and knowledgeable about product features and benefits.
Education and experience required
• Degree in Business Management or any related qualifications
• 5-10 years’ experience of which at least 3 years was at supervisory level
Experience
• Operated in a customer facing role where service is paramount
• Confidence in complaint handling
• Led a team in a sales environment undertaking full performance management responsibilities
• Operated in a financial, regulatory environment and Banking risk and compliance approaches required.
• Leading large teams of people to achieve results
• Must have knowledge of Banking products, processes and services
• Customer service standards
• IT literate
• Sales management principles
