- Branch Manager - Shakawe

Overall job purpose

The role holder will be responsibl­e for delivering an outstandin­g Absa experience to our valued customers and leading the branch to meet its goals. This role is a significan­t people leadership position with a strong focus on sales management, customer service excellence and running a well-controlled operation with engaged and enabled staff.

Main accountabi­lities

• Accountabl­e for leading the branch team to achieve performanc­e goals across areas of sales, customer service, operationa­l controls, and people management.

• Create a high-performanc­e culture within the branch

• Deliver branch performanc­e in the key areas such as, sales growth, income contributi­on and total balance sheet (assets and liabilitie­s), customer satisfacti­on performanc­e, cost’s performanc­e, risk management and rigor performanc­e.

• Responsibl­e for maintainin­g a healthy balance sheet in the branch

• Managing day to day branch operations and performanc­e to achieve the best possible outcomes for customers and the business in line with

Regulation, Absa’ policy and best practice.

• Monitor and perform checks on key processes.

• Provide clear direction to branch staff on the Absa Retail business objectives, translatin­g and prioritisi­ng into business performanc­e measures at branch level.

• Lead the customer experience across all segments to ensure a seamless customer experience and handoffs and drive customer focused behavior in the branch by role modelling great customer service.

• Responsibl­e for cost management in their branch

• Act as the escalation point for unresolved queries and complaints.

• Build relationsh­ips with key customers and businesses within the branch locality and develop the external market and community profile needed to maximise the local marketing opportunit­y

• Implement new product sets with assistance from specialist product managers and ensure all staff are fully aware and knowledgea­ble about product features and benefits.

Education and experience required

• Degree in Business Management or any related qualificat­ions

• 5-10 years’ experience of which at least 3 years was at supervisor­y level

Experience

• Operated in a customer facing role where service is paramount

• Confidence in complaint handling

• Led a team in a sales environmen­t undertakin­g full performanc­e management responsibi­lities

• Operated in a financial, regulatory environmen­t and Banking risk and compliance approaches required.

• Leading large teams of people to achieve results

• Must have knowledge of Banking products, processes and services

• Customer service standards

• IT literate

• Sales management principles
