Uncledipopae hosts Lifestyle Saturday picnic

- NNASARETHA KGAMANYANE Correspondent

In a quest to promote and assist local artists to start making money, Michael Sekaba also known as Uncledipopae, will host the Lifestyle Saturdays Picnic at Wena Tented Camp in Kanye on Saturday.

He told Arts & Culture that just like other local promoters, he wanted to engage South African Amapiano artists to come and perform in the country.

But he decided to drop the event and make a strictly local artists show so that they could also make some money to put food on their tables. The decision comes after the country’s entertainment industry had been shut down for over a year since the outbreak of COVID-19 where it left many local artists in poverty

since a lot of them depend on shows to survive. He said tickets will be available at all Spar Supermarkets outlets countrywide. They will be sold at P100 per ticket and no tickets will be sold at the gate. The event is a six to six item. The show will be headlined by Ubuntu Band famed with their song NgwanaWaMosetsana and the masters of ceremony are Hey Nyeeenah and Mc Theo. Other artists include FME DJs, Ancestral Rituals, Lyric, Silva T, Crespo, DJ Zasky to mention but a few.

“We will be following all the COVID-19 protocols and guidelines.

We will be giving revelers a mask at the gate even if they have theirs, we will sanitise them and we will be collaborating with health officials who will ensure that we follow the protocols.

All you have to do is bring your camp chairs. Stalls for food and beverages are available. We also have a make-up stall, clothing labels stalls and cocktails stalls,” he said.
