Entertainment galore at Reflector Party and Beer Fest
There will be entertainment galore during the first ever Reflector Party and Beer Fest billed for the Serowe Sports Complex on April 15, 2022. The Winning Lounge has collaborated with Mhele Productions in a show that is set to shine light on the upcoming local artists.
In an interview with Arts & Culture, one of the event organisers, Kabo Mohutsiwa explained that the aim of the festival was to give local artistes, especially the upcoming ones, a platform where their music could be listened to and appreciated by the public. Mohutsiwa explained that Mhele Productions approached them asking for sponsorship or any form of assistance that could help them promote their talent. “We are a group of youth with a new business that deals with opening Liquor Restaurants across the country. The aim of this event that is registered under the laws of
Botswana is to grow our brand The Winning Lounge whilst promoting upcoming artistes. This is why we work with Mhele Productions who deals with comedy. We have realised that something is not done well in the music industry, that is why many upcoming artistes struggle to get exposure,” she said. She also said they agreed that they deal with the beer aspect of the show while Mhele Productions focuses on the entertainment side. Mohutsiwa added that they do not only focus on promoting their businesses but are including others as well. She added that the reason they chose reflectors was because people working for contractions were always looked down upon even though their job was very significant. He said through the event, those people will be proud of their job.
The event has attracted about 50 artistes. Mohutsiwa said many of the artistes they included in the line-up were affected by COVID-19. Artistes that would be partaking at the event includes Mukosi from South Africa, Vee Mampeezy, LaTimmy, Johnny Mokhali, Dalom Kids, Qwabe Twins, Ditiro Leero, Kgokgonono, DJ Cleto, Mhele Productions and Tsankana. Tickets are sold for Standard P150, Double P250 and VIP P300. People under the age of 18 will not be allowed at the event and Mohutsiwa added that all COVID-19 protocols will be observed. She noted that the security will be very tight.
