Ferguson to host Gabz creative business luncheon

Film and television superstar, Connie Ferguson is set to visit Botswana on May 14 for a number of speaking and engagement efforts with stakeholde­rs in the business and showbiz sector.

The multi-award winning actress and filmmaker will be addressing creatives along other invited guest speakers at the Phakalane Golf Estate. Ferguson will speak on the Business of Arts and Culture as a driver of economic growth, among other issues.

“Connie Ferguson will be in Botswana to meet and engage with players in the business and arts and entertainm­ent sector as part of a drive to explore opportunit­ies and developmen­t through show business,” said Thapelo Monageng.

“We are looking forward to hosting Connie Ferguson and also do a meet and greet session with her fans in Botswana as a celebrated actress and businesswo­man.

The event is meant to also inspire the next generation of entreprene­urs and find ways to promote arts and culture.” The event is open for all men, women and business owners including aspirants in the industry.”

Ferguson made her mark on the small screen as Karabo Moroka on the long-running South African soapie, Generation­s and ascended up the ladder in showbiz and the business world, with a thriving business empire.

Ferguson is an author, public speaker, producer and co-founder of production company Ferguson Films, which she co-founded with her late husband, Shona Ferguson. She is also a brand ambassador

and has endorsed various brands while she runs her fitness and lifestyle brand called IConniecFi­t, among various other ventures.

The arts and entertainm­ent sector in Botswana is a key sector which can contribute to the economy when harnessed and promoted properly.

The sector has seen significan­t growth over the years and Ferguson’s visit is a further endorsemen­t of the viability of showbiz in the country and beyond.

Tickets are available for sale going at P1,000, which include lunch and a day filled with loads of activities.
