About 450 graduate from Ba Isago University
Ba Isago University has on Friday (November 25, 2022) capped 450 graduands in a graduation ceremony held at the University hall. The jubilant occasion was the first physical graduation ceremony since the outbreak of the COVID-19 in early 2020.
The graduands on the day received Certificates, Diplomas and Degrees from faculties of Faculty of Commerce, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Law and Para Legal Studies and the Faculty of the Built Environment, Arts and Science.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Labour and Home Affairs, Anna Mokgethi lauded the Ba Isago Class of 2022 for showing resilience despite facing the COVID-19 storm during their study period.
“You have, undoubtedly, demonstrated a strong commitment and resilience during this period. This is something that all of us have had to commend ourselves for, profound resilience in fighting the COVID -19 pandemic in the past two and half years. We all know that your academic journey has not been easy. It was particularly not easy for you graduands as you had to soldier on through virtual
lessons, scaled down or cancelled classes, all the while wondering about the uncertainties of what the future might bring,” she said.
Mokgethi further said Ba Isago University has over the years immensely contributed Human Capital Development agenda in the country and the region as she said this should be commended.
“It gives me a lot of pride and joy to be here today to witness the contribution and culmination of all the work and commitments private tertiary institutions make in this country and doing in manpower skills development. The growth of private higher education institutions has come of age and is enhancing the government of Botswana’s efforts to achieve its national vision,” Mokgethi said.
The Ba Isago University managing director and founder, Odirile Gabasiane said the school takes pride in being a leader in the development of curriculum in the sphere of disciplines that responds to the Botswana’s labour market of the 20th century.
“Ba Isago remains a towering pioneer in the development of these programmes. The main programmes that we have developed are in our sister institutions’ programmes and their origin is in Ba Isago University. The law now allows that they can use and benchmark from Ba Isago and we are proud to be the institution’s curriculum programmes respond to the social economic imperative,” Gabaisane said. The Class of 2022 graduation ceremony is the institution’s 16th in its 20 years of existence.
