- NNASARETHA KGAMANYANE Correspondent

ust over a month after its third installment, the popular lifestyle picnic, Coolerbox Lifestyle Picnic will make a return for the fourth edition with a new theme on December 31, 2022 at the Warm Hands Garden in Kanye.

For this upcoming edition, the theme is denim and white. The event organiser, Michael Sekaba popularly known as Uncle Dipopae told Arts & Culture that the goal for this event was to have mature, loving, fashionable, beautiful and just good company of good people on the day for the event to be declared a success.

He added that the inspiration came after he realised that Kanye native DJs do not get much recognition and booking for mainstream events. Therefore, the event accords them a platform to showcase their talent while also creating business opportunities for small men and women.

“The event has grown from the first edition and on this one, which is the fourth edition, we have decided to add popular international acts being Black Motion and Blaq Diamond. Our MCs for the day are T. H. A. B. O and Coach Bae. Alongside them are main DJs from Kanye: DJ Shadik, Bistar, Crespo, Lez, Scotch, Stu, DeepSoul, Silva T, Deep Bandits, Rodger, Lap-*

Soul and many more. The security will be highly intense,” Sekaba said. He continued: “This will be the fourth time hosting such an event. This is a themed event; The first was primarily to bring cooler boxes and camp chairs to the event; the second edition was an all white affair; the third was an all black picnic and the fourth one is denim and white.”

Sebaka added that he wished to grow the event to be of a much greater magnitude as he intends to be able to host it at various locations around the country to showcase local talent at selected venues. He pointed out that their challenges included sometimes artists who do not show up after being booked.

I wish to assure them of clean fun as is the norm of every event, to take each and every query to heart and fix it so as they can enjoy themselves and also attain value for their money,” he ended.
