Mashudu to invade Ghetto
FRANCISTOWN: South African award-winning singer, songwriter and stage performer Mashudu is expected to thrill revellers at the Lizard Entertainment Club on Friday night. It will be Mashudu’s first performance in the ‘City Of All Things Precious’ and she is expected to bring fireworks to Francistown before moving down south for another performance the next day (Saturday) at B2 Club in Mochudi. Lizard Entertainment manager, Michael Njunja told Arts and Culture that Mashudu will perform some of her greatest hits such as ‘Mina Nawe’.
‘Mina Nawe’ is one of the hottest South African (SA) Amapiano bangers on which Mashudu has collaborated with award-winning artists like Soa Mattrix, Happy Jazzman and Emotions DJ. Released last year, the song continues to dominate the airwaves and DJs’ set playlists and is amongst the most streamed Amapiano hits both locally and across borders.
During the Groove Cartel show, which was held last Christmas, the versatile musician stated she started singing opera music at the tender age of seven. The soulful artist was at the time singing Opera music.
The singer then jumped into the Amapiano genre using her beautiful vocals and has since made a name for herself. Additionally, the sweet soulful singer said she mostly expresses herself through music.
Since the beginning of her music journey, Mashudu has made hit songs with Amu Classix, Soa Matrix, Maphorisa, and so many more. According to Njunja, Mashudu is also expected to mesmerise the Amapiano lovers with her latest hit ‘Kwalula’.
To supplement her performance, the organisers have also included local DJs such as Bunz, Kusterrr and Weedashy in the line-up to share the stage with the SA authentic vocalist. Njunja said they are expecting a full house on the day due to the positive reviews they got on their social media platform immediately after the show was announced.
