Finding purpose in life

The nutritional supplement selenium reduces stress in the body at the cellular level. That can help reduce headaches and the feeling that you are “stressed out”. That is also one way selenium helps to reduce cancer. Selenium is the essential element of the anti-oxidant system that helps keep every cell in the body clean and detoxified. Because selenium is such a strong anti-oxidant it also acts as an anti- inflammatory reducing tension, headaches and even minor aches and pains. Selenium tablets not only reduce stress at the cellular level, they can also reduce the stress you feel in daily life – at least to some extent.

Scientists have studied almost all aspects of medicine, physiology and psychology. According to The Lancet medical journal, they have determined that working through the immune system, selenium supplements help reduce not only stress but also depression, anxiety or worrying, hostility or anger, and confusion. In fact you can think of selenium as brain food. The brain has a special need for selenium and even when selenium levels in the body run low the brain conserves it and maintains its supply of selenium. That is because the brain needs selenium to perform properly. Selenium affects many aspects of brain function including memory, concentration and mood.

Selenium helps improve mental stability and slows down mental deterioration in old age that often results in Alzheimer’s disease or senility. Every cell in the body needs selenium to stay healthy. As a result, selenium helps protect and preserve the nervous system and slows down neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s. Selenium supplements are definitely the old person’s friend.

But selenium is also needed by young developing bodies. A healthy woman needs selenium the most when she is pregnant or breast feeding. When a baby is growing inside the placenta, the fetus needs selenium as it adds millions of cells each day. Selenium is especially needed for growth of the nervous system and the brain. Once a baby is born the mother starts giving her immune system to the nursing baby through the white blood cells in mother’s milk. That puts

( Neuro Linguistic Programming) is a tool that we/I use for behavioural change, people communicate not only through words. The three ways we communicate is through words, tonality and physiology. You need a session to understand how this is applied.!

Tell us about your approach to life coaching and your specialist area? What type people does Moruakgomo life coach? What kind of successes have people you’ve coached gone on to have?

In its simplest form, coaching is a process that aims to improve people’s lives. Whether it is a person’s career, family life, confidence or work/ life balance that they wish to improve, the aim of a Coach is to harness the right methods in order to help their client make changes.

I coach mainly marriages/relationships, people have been able to cope with challenges, stop divorces, get over past hurt or broken trust, improve communication and understanding, reconnect and learn forgiveness.

I help clients deal with traumatic experiences, these could be harassment, embarrassment, sexual abuse, employment discrimination, being the victim of an alcoholic parent, life- threatening medical conditions etc.

As a Logotherapist (addressing the negative and tragic issues of life) which is very close to Life additional strain on the nursing mother’s immune system and that requires additional selenium.

Although almost all foods contain traces of selenium, it is in such tiny amounts that most people do not get enough. In fact a majority of people across Southern Africa are slightly to moderately deficient in this essential mineral because it is deficient in the soil and the food chain. This weakens immunity and contributes to higher disease burdens including cancer.

Supplementing children with very low amounts of selenium, 20-30 micrograms a day can help them grow and develop. Many mothers have experienced children in their “terrible twos” when infants often throw temper tantrums. Frequently toddlers are distressed when they can’t yet express themselves, are anxious because they don’t understand what is going on, or they just want attention. 20-30 micrograms a day of selenium often can reduce outbursts common in two year old toddlers. It can also improve their appetite and help them grow. However it is important not to give them adult supplemental doses that normally range from 100 to 200mcg per day. coaching. The two applications have helped a lot in seeing clients find meaning to their lives and becoming victors.

I remain positive and assist client to remove all negative thoughts, to break down obstacles and stand by what he/she values. Once freed from the negative and draining emotions of worry, anxiety, uncertainty one is free to fully appreciate and enjoy every wonderful blessing and fully commit to what is good in life.

Coaches tend to make changing people’s behaviour sound quite straightforward. Is that so? How can you be sure that your coaching actually makes a difference?

When I meet a client my question is just that “are you willing to see your approach to life’s situations change”? if the will is there I know there is a way. A coach has to always be in the right state of mind, I pray before every session, to ask God for guidance in whatever situation the client comes with.

Do cultural differences have an impact on the effectiveness of your method and of coaching in general?

I have coached people from different cultural and religious beliefs but I apply the same approach, as our minds are made up of similar neurons, I celebrate the uniqueness of each individual while I help them to improve, develop and acquire new life skills.
