Cane Tsolamosese’s wayward children at the Kgotla
Police Commissioner Keabetswe Makgophe has advised parents with troublesome children in Tsolamosese to have them caned at the Kgotla.
His advice comes amid the growing crime in the area. Makgophe encouraged Tsolamosese community to not only help weed out criminal elements in the community but to identify crime that needs attention and together with the police, develop efficient strategies to deal with them.
“Without the community, the police cannot be successful,” he said during a ceremony at which Peermont’s Grand Palm Hotel, Casino and Convention Resort donated a porta-cabin for use by Tsolamosese Satellite police station.
Speaking at the ceremony Defence, Justice and Security minister Kagiso Mmusi said the Grand Palm Hotel gesture would help mitigate operational law enforcement challenges faced by Tsolamosese community. “Policing Tsolamosese from here will now answer our national commitment of taking services to the people and relieve Mogoditshane Police Station which is overstretched due to its vast area of coverage and high volume of crime handled by the station,” Mmusi said. The minister further noted that government alone “cannot manage to develop the country without the participation of the business community,” sharing that just when government had recovered from the recession, the world was hit by the COVID -19 Pandemic which diverted money set aside for developments.
