- BY SUN REPORTER

Amavukuki have dropped an Afro house and dance music EP titled Monateng Volume 1.

The EP was produced by Mr. Romeo SA, Harry Cane, C-Sharp BW and Man Dizzy. The leading single to the EP, titled Vavavum, which was produced by DJ TBoy voice of SA, is already receiving a lot of airplay. The Lobatse based trio, comprising of Gilbert Magosi, Kitso Maoto and Thabo Nthebolang, are signed to Executive Music and Management based in Gaborone, and New York, USA. The trio

said they formed the group in 2010 when they were still at Itireleng Junior Secondary School in Lobatse. Maoto said they chose Afro house and dance music because they enjoy it, and communicate better in the genre. He said their new EP is a breath of fresh air as they have a fun and upbeat sound that will appeal to many people. Maoto also said that they enjoyed working on the EP, and are pleased with the final product. “The whole team gave their best; the EP is amazing… it is fire and hot. We have no doubt that the reception will be positive; we can’t wait to get feedback from our fans,” he said. Maoto, said while they intend to make more music, they also aim

to create a professional art platform for youth, and build an academy that would help young people unleash their talent. “We want to groom professional artists and dance crews in Botswana. There is a lot of talent that is not tapped into and we want to give young people an opportunity to share and nurture their talent, and use it to grow a career and put food on the table,” he said. The EP is already available for download on major digital streaming platforms: Itunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Derezz, You Tube Music, Sportify, Instagram, Shazam and Tik Tok.
