THE SILENCED VOICE… ‘’There’s evilness in every human’s eyes

Frustrations are taken upon us physically

And we even suffer mentally Women when will we rise?

It’s high time we stand against genderbased violence

For how long are we to die in silence Behind closed curtains we endure cries

Women when will we become wise? We experience brutal beating Some due to suspected cheating In the night we will be screaming And we say we’re loved, women when will we stop dreaming?

We get bruised, we get battered Our bodies used; our hearts shattered Yet we still stay

Women does it have to be that way? Anger makes one become violent and strange

And they keep on saying they will change

This becomes an everyday song Women, we will condone this for how long?

They tell us right to our head That we leave and they will kill us dead

And we hide from speaking out down to our deathbed

There are laws that protect us. Women when will we learn to read and take the lead?

Let us unite and break the silence Whenever we witness violence against women and girls

Do not sit back, act!

Before someone close to you is next.’
