Elite league giants, Gaborone United have been the busiest team in the current transfer market, ahead of the resumption of the football, which is slated for January 2021.

The Money Machine, as the Gaborone based club is affectionately known, are flexing their financial muscle in the transfer window and revamping almost all the departments in their squad after finishing fifth on the log last season.

Moreover, the Money Machine still has silverware to chase as they are still in the quarterfinals of the Orange FA cup. The Reds eliminated the reigning champions Orapa United in the last 16 of the tournament earlier this year.

The team will look a whole lot different compared to last season’s squad with some familiar faces and new faces brought in to build off of a title contender side.

Caretaker Coach Pontsho Moloi has added a number of experienced players in his team, former Jwaneng Galaxy defenders, Karabo Phiri and Thato Kebue will fortify his backline and possibly, he will have an airtight defense.

In attack Moloi welcomes back from loan speedy winger Tshepo Malgas and Thatayaone Ramatlapeng is another addition to the team that will add firepower in the attacks of Moyagolele.

In his squad, the coach has some of the most experienced players including Edwin Bonsu, Tshepo Maikano, Kekaetswe Moloi, Lesego Galenamothale, Misani Thupa, Thatayaone Kgamanyane and Goitseone Phoko.

With all that the reds boast a very attractive team that has both experienced and youthful players. Their squad has depth and can now challenge for titles in the coming season.

The addition of players will give Moloi dimension and shape in all areas of play and will challenge him to try out different tactics and different formations given the depth in the team

Meanwhile, his side faces Police XI in the quarterfinals of the tournament that was disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Other fixtures in the tournament are Calendar Stars against Masitaoka, Debswana backed Jwaneng Galaxy will battle Notwane while Township Rollers faces MR Highlanders.
