The contradictions of BNF Chief Administrators - A Perspective

-

The BNF Constitution clearly confers powers on the party Central Committee to be the sole custodians of the day- to day running of the administration in between Congresses or Conferences. It is common knowledge that none of the individual members of the Central Committee may purport to wield powers over the Central Committee. Despite this fundamental constitutional imperative, we continue to witness the flagrant violation of this virtuous instrument by the President and his Secretary General with wanton abandon. Despite this anomaly, the President and the Secretary General are known for accusing other CC members or even the broader BNF rank and file of perceived misconduct or Indiscipline by airing party issues in the media while they themselves are the main culprits of such. There are two possible causes to this conundrum: a) The President and S. G either consider themselves above the constraints of the BNF Constitution or

b) the misconception that as chief administrators, they consider themselves as wielding unregulated powers to promulgate policies without necessarily the blessing of CC.While there is mass hysteria, every time cheerleading this misdemeanor, some of us are in bewilderment for such transgression, and are therefore vehement in defence of the principles of the BNF.

Back to the issues of indiscipline, consistent with progressive BNF politics, discipline or lack of, is more to do with failure by cadres to follow or obey a set of rules governing the movement than mere misconduct.

Along this line, the President and his S.G are known for holding Press Conferences and make pronouncements over key organizational matters on which they do not have legitimate powers to preside over unless they are sanctioned by the Central Committee.

An example of such were: Convening the Ba Isago 2019 BNF Conference without the approval of BNF CC as granted by the Constitution

The recent signing of the MOU between UDC and BPF/AP done without the input of BNF CC.

Based on the above factual considerations, Cde S.G does not have the moral high ground to pour scorn on other comrades alleged to have given interviews as quoted in the latest edition of The Midweek Sun dated 25 November - 02 Dec 2020 as, for reasons raised above holds the record together with the President of acting outside the provisions of the BNF Constitution and ethos.

We urge all members regardless of position to abide and hold sacred the constitution of the BNF to avoid chaos and anarchy. We further caution Cde S.G to be fair and unbiased to avoid selective justice in the administration of the BNF. Aluta continua! [Comrade E.T. Christian]
