Sassy singer Nicole Martinez recently dropped a new single titled ‘Daty Daty’ featuring Girly. Nicole Martinez told Vibe that the song is dedicated to women. She said that as Mothers’ day celebrations approach, she found it fit to release a song that sings praises for the greatness of women. “I was inspired by how a
woman is a beautiful creature… Women give life, raise children, ensure happiness in households while also working hard to ensure that their families have a roof over their head,” she said. She noted that the song is also reminiscent of childhood days, where she used to enjoy happy days playing traditional games such as koi and singing folklore songs.
Nicole Martinez explained that in their context, ‘Daty, Daty’ means ‘dirty dirty’ and meant to applaud how a woman likes cleanliness as well as putting things together. The Gqom song has a touch of Amapiano. It was recorded, mixed and mastered at Bang!Gae studio by Nephew, and produced by K-Fros.
The two ladies said the feedback to the song had been encouraging and expressed appreciation for the support. The song is already being shared across social media platforms and recently premièred for the first time on RB2 radio station.
Nicole Martinez said that they are already working on the video for the song and anticipate to release it next month. She added that she also has a few projects in the pipeline. “I want to focus more on releasing collaborations this year, and have already started off with three DJ collaborations early this year.”
