On the BCP’s no-show at the UDC presser

- KGOSIDINTSI]

- About an hour before the Monday press conference by UDC, contracting partner BCP released a statement to say they won’t be a part of the meeting as the decision to call the presser was not unanimous. Below are some of the social media reactions to the BCP letter and the UDC media briefing by President Duma Boko:

WE ARE TIRED OF THE BCP

The last UDC NEC meeting the entirety of the BCP representatives wanted to attend via zoom because they were all held up. All 4 of them held up at the same time? That looks like a resolution not to attend the meeting. Today they release a memorandum an hour before the Press Conference stating that they won’t be party to it because they don’t know what is to be discussed? An hour before the press conference?

Bagaetsho MaBCP ba taa reetsa mo weleseng jaaka Batswana botlhe, nna re lapile janong. [RESEGO

TEACH BOKO TO BE HUMBLE

I was listening to President Boko talking about having no time for pettiness and petty people. Of course he was referring to UDC followers and his BCP colleagues in leadership. Someone must teach Boko to be humble as a leader. Too much pride in him is what led to his epic fall in 2019. Come 2024 he will be begging for votes from the same people he calls petty. And once again they will punish him for being haughty and behaving as if the world revolves around him. A very intelligent and smart person drowning all his virtues in an ocean of arrogance. Come on! [Kabelo Molefhe]

BCP IS JUST TOO TOXIC

If the BCP is telling the truth that the BPP had also asked for postponement of the press conference, why then did the BPP attend? The BCP clearly lied about the BPP having issues with the press briefing. They just wanted to sanitize their decision not to attend. I tell you, the BCP is only going to cause divisions in this coalition. They only came into this coalition to benefit themselves, without the banner of the UDC they would be nowhere just as it was with Koorapetse being their lone ranger after 2014. Even they know that without the UDC, they can’t win elections as a party. There is proof. [TEBO BONTSIBOKAE]

BOKO KE MMUSA NOSI

O go a twe Boko go twe tuu! Lo ne lo rogakaka Rre

Kgoroba akere maloba a re be careful. Dikai tsone o ntse oa di lo ntshetsa Boko gore ke mmusa nosi, lo tle lo seka lwa di tsaa tsia Batswana lo tlaa thanya lomapo lo le tsebeng katle. [ISHAMEL MAGOSI]

BCP CAN GO, THEY WILL LOSE

BCP are becoming big headed. Now that they used UDC model to acquire more seats, they want to abandon the movement. Let them go. They will have 0 representative in 2024 [MAXIDO BALE]

BDP WILL LEAD FOREVER

Owaii, ga gona se se ka tlholang se dirwa mo opposition.

Ke tse re tlholang re di bona, ba bo bare ba ka ntsha Domi mo pusong. Nnyaa e tla nna dikeletso fela. Mathata a opposition it’s all about executive leadership. Ke yone e nnang e tlhakatlhakanya sengwe le sengwe at the last minute, ba bo ba kobela batlhophi ko Domi. Go tla nna thata gore go nne le kagiso mo boeteledipeleng ja bone. Mongwe le mongwe o a ipatla. [MAGS MAGAOLA]

BCP MUST QUIT UDC

BCP should just pull out of UDC and stand alone. Saleshando is the same man who spent days at Parliament debating with BDP in favour of Batswana yo mongwe ene a diilwe ke sekgoa sa Law. Re taa lapa kwa [MIS CANDY]

GO TLETSE BAITIMUKANYI

BCP suggested that individual parties be dissolved go dirwe ONE party, ba a gana bana ba ga Boko. It then asks for elective congress jaaka molao motheo o supa, ba a gana bana ba ga Boko. Ba re mabaka ke

gore congress e ka thuba mokgatlho. When pressed hard ba re ba santse ba emetse AP le BPF gore di tsene. Jaanong bona BOITIMOKANYI fa bo leng teng, ba tsweletse ba dira molao motheo o mosha wa UDC tsone diparty tse ba di emetseng di ise di tsene mo sekhukhung. Re kabo re le puso e e ntseng jang fa Batswana ba ne ba re neetse marapo? Ya bo mabijo![DONALD MPHETHLE]

BOKO IS NO NATIONAL LEADER

O bona sekgoa se se reng one can go through school but not have school go through him/her go tewa bo Duma Boko. For a man who purports to have mastery of the mind, he is failing to keep BNF as a united front, and UDC is a coalition in name only. So with him clearly failing at party level, o ka kgona the nation? Le mmolelele gore the political arena ain’t a court, one doesn’t get ahead by technicality and bamboozling the jury and opponents ka jargon. [MOETAPELE GASEMOTSE]

BOKO HAS QUESTIONS TO ANSWER

Boko must get serious. What he is doing now, he confirms Sedirwa Kgoroba’s words.

Notwithstanding allegations of lack of consultation by DGB with his deputy and coalition partner BCP when he called the press conference, potential Batswana voters expect to hear him address 2 important, pending matters among others: 1) the state of opposition cooperation talks, giving timelines of when agreements are to be concluded and the possible form of cooperation

2) the BNF position on BCP calls for an elective congress, and a counter proposal Omission of these from his monologue would be a sure sign of one majoring in the minor, and a disastrous failure to lead by Duma Boko. [RETHABILE MAREKO]

BCP HOLDING UDC AT RANSOM

We can’t let BCP hold UDC at ransom. In fact ba setse ba re bora tota. In the past we used to have UDC e senang this ego. Go tswang foo o tla utlwa ba re they want parties to merge. As if that will bring any solutions. How can parties merge go sena kutlwisisano at coalition level? [KELVIN MORE]
