Motswana’s testimony on his encounter with TB Joshua
Sad as the passing on of Prophet TB Joshua may be, Joseph Gabalebatse chooses to celebrate than mourn him. According to the Mahalapye-born educator and budding entrepreneur, the man of God’s life deserves to be celebrated for the simple reason that he changed lives of multitudes around the world.
“There was a significant change in my life too, after my close encounter with TB Joshua. The man has accomplished all that God sent him to do and now it is up to us to live according to his teachings,” Gabalebatse tells The Midweek Sun.
A devoted Seventh Day Adventist, Gabalebatse says when he went to TB Joshua’s Synagogue Church of Nations (SCOAN) in June 2014, it was against his wishes, only pressurised by his wife Cecilia to do so. At the time, he led an aimless life highlighted by a lot of drinking and smoking, a lifestyle that would change forever after his visit to TB Joshua.
“Since I went there reluctantly, I had a lot of doubts, which doubts were later to be proven wrong as I witnessed first-hand, the greatness of God.
“Before going to Nigeria I drank and smoked a lot. I did these because honestly my life had reached a cul-de-sac. There was no progress in my life. All I had to do was go to work, teach students and wait for the meagre teaching salary then misuse it. I had neither the idea nor the guts to try some business that could supplement my salary,” recalls Gabalebatse.
Once at SCOAN, he and his wife would join other congregants to go pray, and he could see his life change.
“After being prayed for by Prophet T. B. Joshua, these are the significant changes that came to my life: I totally quit both drinking and smoking. In fact, while praying for me, Prophet T. B Joshua had told me that I was destined for greater heights if I were to stop doubting my capabilities. I then tried my luck in business. Though not rich, I am now a Director of three companies. One of those companies, Abotle Distributors, has been awarded a huge project by an American company, Makassi Beverages LLC, to be the sole and exclusive Distributors of their Makassi juice throughout the entire Southern African region.
“Before going to SCOAN, I had an unfinished project to construct a house in Gaborone North. I ran out of money to complete the house and banks said my net salary wasn’t enough for them to loan me money. Surprisingly when I came back from SCOAN, armed with the Morning Water and Faith Bracelet, I approached the same bank that had long refused to offer me a loan. My net salary had not in any way changed. In a matter of hours, my loan was approved and as we speak my family and I stay in our small house in Gaborone North.
“Most importantly, my visit to SCOAN helped me look at life differently. I no longer look at challenges, hurdles and setbacks as anything bad. I see them as my test of faith and that things don’t always happen the way we want them to. This has since made me a resilient and optimistic person no matter how hard things are,” concludes an appreciative Gabalebatse who adds that through his sojourn to SCOAN, he met and made friends with people who are now his international business associates.
