Stanbic Bank Botswana has partnered with Botswana Nurses’ Union (BONU) to offer financial support and empowerment to nurses.
The bank signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BONU to place the financial welfare of BONU members at the centre of an array of banking services support. The agreement formalizes the mutual interaction and strengthens the existing relationship between the Bank and the nurses union at a strategic and working level, based on the needs of the nurses.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Stanbic Chief Executive officer, Samuel Minta said the strategic partnership marks a significant milestone, not just for the bank and BONU, but also for the country. “It compliments Botswana’s Vision 2036 Pillar, ‘Sustainable Economic Development’.
It is our goal to champion an effective and sustainable financial services support environment in the country through partnerships such as this.” He said through this engagement with BONU, the bank takes yet another great step in its journey to build long-lasting relationships that help co-create a brighter future for Batswana. “The goal is to empower all members of BONU with financial services that they can use to build their own legacies and improve their lives, thus, better enabling them to leverage capabilities to make their dreams come true.”
For his part, BONU president, Obonolo Rahube said the partnership brings greater comfort and peace of mind in financial well being and empowerment of nurses. “It does not only mean impact for the nurses themselves, but for their families and those in their zones of influence, albeit indirectly. This is progress and this is what we are working to passionately drive further.”
Stanbic Bank Head of Customer Channels, Portia Motshegare said members of the Union, will receive a multitude of benefits that include, Unsecured Personal loans, Vehicle & Asset Financing Home loan and other banking services. “As a Bank, we are committed to delivering excellent solutions and services towards client centricity and superior service delivery, and in recognition and gratitude for the incredible role Botswana Nurses continue to play in the community.
