FACE BEATS BY BOI GIVES MAKE-UP THE MIDAS TOUCH

- BY KELETSO THOBEGA

If ever you have a special function and want to look stunning, then Face Beats by Boi is probably your best bet.

The lady behind the brand, Boitshepo Loeto, has the Midas touch when it comes to make-up.

Face Beats by Boi, a wholly registered company, offers mobile application services as well as make-up tutorials. They offer different types of make-up including day, night and bridal make-up.

Loeto said she started off learning make-up application from watching YouTube tutorials, in 2015.

“I tried the different looks on my face, and eventually started trying them out on other people,” she said.

She started Face Beats by Boi in December 2016. She has not looked back since, and she continues to make strides in make-up artistry.

We are moving towards the summer months and make-up should be lighter for the hot Botswana sun, noted Loeto, adding that in summer, the most important tip is:‘Less is more.’ She noted that the focus should be on investing in and maintaining a good skincare routine.

“It is important to invest in good skincare products such as a good quality facewash, toner and face cream or moisturiser that is suitable for your skin type.

This keeps the skin clean, healthy and supple, and also ensues that the makeup sits well on your face because good skin is the canvass for your make-up to sit on,” she said.

She further said when it comes to make-up application, the most important aspect is using a good primer that is suitable for your individual skin type, to ensure that the make-up glides smoothly onto the skin.

So, what is the best skincare tip for the ladies out there?

Loeto noted two important aspects: never ever sleep with make-up on and drink a lot of water. “Wash your face twice a day with a good facewash.Apply sunscreen in the morning to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Make it a point to drink a lot of water during the day to keep your skin hydrated and allow it to replenish itself.”

And the biggest make-up trend this season? Loeto said the natural look is definitely the entire rave.“Less is more and we are slowly going back to the make-up trends that were popping back in the 2000s such as glossy lips, feathered eyebrows and neutral coloured eyeshadow.”

Face Beats by Boi offer one-on-one make-up tutorials for anyone who wants to explore different looks and learn techniques to apply make-up on themselves. Loeto said those who take part in the tutorials can expect to learn how to be experts at their own faced and develop a deeper understanding of applying make-up on different faces, eyes, lips and nose shapes.

“They will learn about different skin types and how to take care of them accordingly… They will also learn how to work wit make-up on different faces including their own.”
