Limkokwing University of Creative Technology has committed to strengthen the contribution of the Creatives to the country’s economy as well as work to produce job creators instead of job seekers.

Speaking during the recent University’s annual media reception at its Block 7 campus in Gaborone, newly-appointed Vice Chancellor, Dr. Raphael Dingalo said that the Creatives industry can also be called the “Johbs Sector,” given its significant contribution to Global Gloss Domestic Product.

Limkokwing also used the reception to announce its newly-appointed University Council Chairman Dr. Theophilus Mooko who is former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology.

As for the 2021 New Academic Intake, the University has lined up new programmes such as the 21st Century High-Income Career Part Time & Short Courses as well as the 1 Year Certificate Courses.

Limkokwing’s Finance Manager Lenah Kelepile said they understand the legitimate student concerns about affordability of university education hence the school offers flexible payment structures in order to increase access to tertiary education for private students who will be self sponsored due to not meeting the Government sponsorship cut off point.

Kelepile said that private students will be allowed to pay tuition fees in instalments in an effort to help Batswana from underprivileged families and working class families to access higher education.

Limkokwing will also be offering up to 50 percent scholarships to all Associate Degree and Degree programme self-sponsored students for the 2021 New Academic Intake which will begin in October 2021.

Communication & Public Relations Director Mercy Thebe highlighted that programmes run at Limkokwing are innovative, stimulating and designed to better enable graduates to meet the challenges of the new economic world order and transit seamlessly from academia to the world of work.

The University’s TVET model for building human capital is based upon a broad vision of what learning and training should embrace, coupled with a practical orientation.

Limkokwing University seeks to attract enthusiastic, adventurous, creative, innovative, ready to take risks, techno-savvy young people, who want to contribute immensely to the growth of the economy of Botswana and globally. The University’s Founder President, Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato Sri Dr. Limkokwing died in June 2021.
