Telekelo also said he cannot go out to embarrass himself since he did not prepare due to Covid-19 and other reasons.”I need to sort myself out first. Take more time to work on my fitness and find guys that I will go with for the competitions.” The former Orapa Cycling Challenge and Mascom Cycling Challenge winner cut ties with his club Morupule Cycling Club earlier this year. “I have opened a Bicycle shop in Palapye and I need to build it up.” Following his nasty knee injury during the Karowe Cycle Challenge, in 2018, the ardent cyclist has been recuperating at home but his fans will have to wait a little longer. “My plan is to see myself on the Podium. And for that I will be coming with a team that can help me achieve that. I am 27 years and I still have many years of racing and I will give my best. I still believe in myself, that I can achieve more than what I have achieved in the past.” Moreover, he said the bike shop he is currently running will establish a team that will be divided into two categories, the juniors and elite. “I want to have younger cyclists because those are the guys that can be selected to represent the country just like I did as a youngster participating in the African Continental Championships in South Africa a few years ago.”

With zeal and enthusiasm, Telekelo said he wants to see the sport grow: “The Passion I have for cycling is what many people don’t understand. The breaks that I have had brought pain to me. I hear lot of rumours that I will never do it; I should quit and give up but this won’t bring me down or make me give up. I will keep going and I am going to build many upcoming cyclists in Palapye. Furthermore, the Palapye based cyclist appreciated the sponsors that have been by his side, Retebo Cleaning Services based in Maun and Gaborone, Automotix Palapye, Lizah’s Pawn Shop Palapye and BRES company, based in Gaborone.
