Dagee drops I Am Rich
USA based Motswana DJ, producer, artist and allround creative entrepreneur, Goodwill Daniel, who goes by the stage name, DJ Dagizus/Dagee, recently released a new single titled I Am Rich. The song has a mellow amapiano beat with a jazz feel, and a saxophone melody. Dagee said he and his producer conceptualised the upbeat sound because he likes music that makes people dance and makes them happy and has a party vibe.
While the first thought is money, Dagee told Vibe that the riches that he sings about are not about money but rather, about life. He said life is a gift from God and everyone must embrace it, especially during these unprecedented times, and so he highlights the need to appreciate the gift of life.“I am basically saying: What if you do not wake up the next day? The answer is quite simple, you will be dead. And what of the money and cars that you had? They will remain but you will be gone…Therefore you have to
take your life seriously. Life is richer. This is the concept behind this new single,” he said. Dagee said the single features Bathusi Nelly Odisitse of Tsholofelo in Gaborone, who goes by the stage name Nelly Bat.The song was produced by talented upcoming producer, HarryCane.
DJ Dagizus said HarryCane started sharing his musical releases and projects with him to gain exposure and break into the international market. “He was so consistent in doing that as he also wanted fair critique.
He then asked me to use some of his beats, and shared a few amapiano sounds, which I liked. He also offered to locate a young talented vocalist and we worked on this single.”
